    おもしろかった。ずば抜けておもしろかった。

    ほぼ２１エモンの続編みたいな内容でこれが読みたかったと思わせる一品。

    ２１エモンもモジャ公も人気が出なくて打ち切りだったというのが信じられない。

    今の基準で見ても一級品のＳＦギャグなのに。しかも下品じゃなく痛快。

    後年の藤子作品には失われてしまったギャグセンスが満載だ。

    私が生まれる前の作品なのにぜんぜん古臭さを感じさせない。

    画の構図もセンス抜群なのだ。

    ぜひ甥っ子に読ませたい。

    『好きな藤子F作品』となると返答に迷いますが、『面白い藤子F作品』ならば個人的にはまずこの作品です。

    ユーモア・スリル・キャラクターどれをとっても一級品。まったく隙がありません。

    とにかく、空夫・モジャ公・ドンモの主人公トリオが絶妙なバランス。

    この三人組、ほぼ全てのエピソードにおいて三人が三人とも正常で安全という状態がまずありません。

    ほぼ必ず三人のうちの誰かが、なんらかの理由で状態異常のピンチに陥っています。

    それを残った二人が必死に少ない知恵と勇気を絞って助け合う。この不細工な絆と友情が愛おしい。

    これこそ何度でも読み返したくなる名作だと思います。

    こちらは不思議なことに21エモンよりも時代差を感じません。全然古臭くない作品です。

    こうやって読めることに感謝！

    21エモンと違って残念なのは、アニメが（残念な意味で）原作を反映してない点です。

    ボール状の宇宙人モジャラとロボットのドンモが、日常生活に嫌気が差した地球の少年である天野空夫を誘って宇宙冒険の旅に飛び出すＳＦギャグ漫画です。

    「あとがきにかえて」として巻末に収録されている、1989年の中央公論社の愛蔵版に初掲載された作者による作品誕生の顛末には、「実はこの"モジャ公"は"21エモン"の二番煎じです」とあります。私は"21エモン"への興味からネット上で著者のこの発言を知り、"21エモン"を続けるために描いたという本作に興味をもってを購読しました。このレビューも21エモンとの比較を中心に述べています。

    少年、丸いフォルムの生物、ロボットという三人組は"21エモン"と同じ構成です。（この構成、丸い生物をロボットに置き換えると、"モジャ公"の７年後に公開されたスターウォーズのトリオにも通じるところがあります。ルーカス監督は黒澤明『隠し砦の三悪人』からのアイデアとしています。）性格的には、エモンたちより空夫たちのほうがアナーキーで、無茶な行動も多く見られます。

    タイトルはモジャラの愛称である「モジャ公」ですが、空夫、モジャラ、ドンモの三人組の扱いや関係性は対等です。強いて言えば空夫のほうが主人公格、三人のなかではドンモの存在はやや地味です。モジャラが口のなかに溜め込んだ道具を半ばランダムに取り出せる程度で、これといった特殊能力がないことも三人組の特徴です。モンガーのテレポート能力が毎回活躍する"21エモン"との違いのひとつです。

    掲載誌の対象読者は小学校低学年と、"21エモン"が掲載された少年サンデーよりも低年齢向けです。しかし、ストーリーが連続ものであること、子供向け漫画としては残酷なシーンが多いこと、空夫の冒険の動機が家出であること、"ボル"という宇宙共通の貨幣をめぐる金銭的な話題が多いことなど、内容的にはむしろ21エモンよりも高い年齢層に向いています。

    "21エモン"では全体の１／３程度にとどまった宇宙冒険パートですが、本作では初回で地球を飛び出してから最終回で再び訪れるまでは、三人組のスペースオペラが続きます。このあたりに、"21エモン"における作者の心残りが宇宙冒険の旅をもっとふんだんに描くことにあったのだろうと推察できます。生きることに飽いた人びとがショーとして死を見物したがる「自殺集団」や、唯脳をテーマにした「天国よいとこ」など、当時の子供向けＳＦ漫画としては先鋭的だったのではないでしょうか（だからこそ連載が短期に終わったとも思えます）。ちなみに"モジャ公"世界の地球は星間連合への加入も許されない未開の野蛮な星として恐れられるとともに蔑まれ、空夫を除く地球人は宇宙人の存在を知りません。この点も、星間連合に加入してそれなりの文明度を誇る地球を描く、"21エモン"世界との違いです。

    本書は567ページまでの本編にあたる11のエピソードに加え、雑誌発表時の別バージョン、幼稚園児向けの絵本に近い見開き10コマ未満の作品、扉絵やグラビアなども収録されています。あとがきは冒頭で記載した、作者による作品誕生の顛末です。解説はライムスター宇多丸氏が担当しています。

    なお、本作中の「ナイナイ星のかたきうち」はＴＶアニメ『21エモン』の35話と36話、「アステロイド・ラリー」は劇場版『21エモン　宇宙いけ！裸足のプリンセス』のメインプロットとして流用されています。
