I've been interested in the concept of clubbing for this exact reason. It seems like one of the only places where it's not socially detrimental to deliberately initiate. Hey guys where can I meet shy introverted women?

If you continue to feel like you're better than who you were in the past, then knowing you were able to bag someone in unideal conditions will make moving forward that much easier

I wouldn't call it limerance as much as simple attachment. Having very little contact left with childhood friends, them having scattered here and there, this is someone I wouldn't want to loose touch with. She could have dismissed me entirely which isn't the case.

As for self betterment, it works to a certain degree (again speaking from experience). I know how to cook, I can find myself hobbies, I have a healthier lifestyle than before although finances can be hard due to the kid.
