What is it?
Football AI Pro is an advanced post-match football analysis assistant powered by hybrid and generative artificial intelligence (AI). The first football intelligence tool of its kind with this very particular use case, it was developed in close cooperation with Lenovo specifically for match analysts and coaching staff and focuses on analytical insights and report generation from official match data. It combines AI agents capable of querying structured match data (event and tracking data) with the specialised FIFA Football Language model, video and other data sources to deliver tactical insights, performance analysis and strategic recommendations in a fast, reliable and structured way.
What was the issue?
With the vast amounts of data and video materials generated in football today, one of the biggest challenges is the availability of resources for teams to actually process this information and content. The following are among the complicating factors at play:

How does it work?
Football AI Pro is a bespoke system that uses a hybrid AI architecture specifically designed for the use case of football intelligence. Some of its specific capabilities are set out below.
Data layer: the ability to ingest structured match data (event and tracking data) and organise it into tactical categories (build-up, progression, pressing, transitions, etc.) using the FIFA Football Language
Knowledge retrieval system: the ability to retrieve relevant match situations and statistical patterns and ensure a factual grounding before generating insights
Insight generation: the ability to produce structured analysis (e.g. distribution analysis broken down into passes, crosses and progressive carries) and tactical recommendations, including adapting the depth of explanation to the target user
The system prioritises explainability and tactical clarity over generic AI responses in order to avoid hallucinations.
How was it tested?
The system was thoroughly tested in many ways. Historical match analysis, case-study simulations, data consistency checks and numerous expert feedback loops informed the development of the tool at each step.
