macOS Golden Gate vs Tahoe: Every New Feature Explained
macOS 27 Golden Gate upgrades Siri, Safari, and Photos. Here’s what’s new.
MacOS Golden Gate Could Be Everything Siri Always Promised But Never Was. This Time Is Different
Every year, Apple says Siri is going to become way smarter. Every year, you upgrade and ask it something perfectly sensible and still end up Googling it.
MacOS 27 Golden Gate aims to change that dynamic. And for once, the feature set that backs that claim actually warrants a second look.
Building on macOS 26 Tahoe that launched last year, Golden Gate arrives later in 2026 with a considerably more advanced version of Apple Intelligence, an improved Liquid Glass UI that responds to complaints with Tahoe, an overhauled search engine on the back-end and parental controls that surpass any Apple has shipped previously.
Whether it fulfills the promise will ultimately depend on implementation. But here’s everything that’s changing, how it stacks up to Tahoe and whether your Mac will make the grade.
