i do genuinely think it’s absurd the standard that israel is held to. hezbollah bombards israel with rockets for over a year, starting on the day hamas attacked israel on october 7th, but as soon as israel responds militarily it’s admonished as an escalation. iran funds proxies not only to foment chaos and instability in the middle east, but also to maintain plausible deniability while still technically managing to attack israel, and people act like there is no reason at all whatsoever for israel to go to war with them. i can’t think of any other nation in the world that is expected to just turn the other cheek to constant acts of war waged against it because the groups attacking them are so weak that you can technically get by on just ignoring them. and somehow the rest of the world has failed to catch up to the fact that post-october 7th israel now treats every threat as equally urgent, because despite being content ignoring hamas lobbing rockets over the border daily because they were so weak, hamas still managed to plan and carry out the attack on october 7th.

the most egregious part of it is that no other country would tolerate this but they expect us to

And it “”“hurts”“” our position because our government uses exorbanant amounts of money to keep our citizens from dying so conflicts look one sided cuz none of our enemies care about protecting their civilians
