It’s not a sideloading restriction, but an "Accountability Layer." 🛡️ Advanced users will be able to"Install without verifying," but expect a high-friction flow designed to help users understand the risks.

This is the most retarded move that i ever see Google doing with Android. You wanna be more like Apple? Back in the days you wanted to stand off from beeing restrict/closed like Apple was/is, now android starts to be more close. This is not Evolution/inovation...

What's more, here's another thing I'd like to add: I don't think inexperienced users who've just bought a device will rush to install third-party software. So I don’t need any protection—I want to take responsibility for my own life myself.

I really hope you're telling the truth and won't turn Android into a closed system, because everyone should have the right to decide what to install on their device. Thank you for understanding. because I really don’t want Android to turn into iOS.

I'd expect the "high-friction" to affect the "purchasing flow" of Android devices after this asinine idea will be actually implemented. There wouldn't be no substantial reason to buy Android devices if they're locked down like Apple ones.

This is excellent, not blocking but education, now why doesn't Google do the same thing for bootloader unlock and forces brands to make it mandatory? Will we ever be able to own OUR hardware? Thank you...

I think some of my APK apps disappeared because of this update. They don’t show up on the home screen or in the app list, but they appear as installed on the Play Store, even though I can’t open them. How I can access them???

What's the point? Anyway, you can't just install third-party apps like that, so why make people's lives harder? For what? You're just limiting users' possibilities under the guise of "protection".

Assuming the “accountability layer” works. When the system is flawed, it becomes a disaster: valid papers are blocked without explanation, no human review exists, and even paid support is inaccessible.Accountability without escalation or transparency is not safety-it’s exclusion.
