DMC1 Devil Triggers
I know the DMC1 devil triggers aren’t the most fondly looked on nowadays but I really like the concept of becoming the demon the devil arm is named after. I’d really like to see this comeback in a future game even if it’s with another character. It’d be wild to just transform into Beowulf or Nevan.

Q&A
I miss whenDevil Trigger changed depending on what weapon you had, always liked that since it seemed like Dante was assuming a form best suited to the power he was using
Yeah. I still like the headcanon reason (DT form becomes more permanent and stabilized with age)
Kinda makes sense. The way I see it, early DT gets influenced by theDevil arms which is why DMC 4 Nero 's DT appears as a spectral entity and in DMC5 he gets a proper dt without needing a devil arm
Ifrit DT'ed Dante looks like Arkham Knight.
Always felt really messy to me considering how often you swap weapons in DMC and having the character model constantly swap too is just extremely distracting
I just realized that DMC3 was doing what DMC1 did since it also had DT Depending on the weapon you had
These go unnecessarily hard
I’d love to see these forms updated. They do go hard.
This feature is one of the reasonsdmc1 is good as hell
Atmosphere and Enemy Design still put the rest of the series and the entire genre to shame.
IKR? Dmc1 has by far the best demon designs. Also is like the only games in the series that has this horror vibe
Kind of a shame you only see them whenever you attack.
Yeah. This mod I found was probably the clearest I’ve ever seen these forms.
Their demon form looks modernized in medieval. I like the devs' choice of design.
These definitely need a modern make over.
I'd love to see devil triggers that change depending on the weapon again
I'm a bit disappointed that Dante never used "sparda dt" in dmc 5 but he still got sdt which is as cool as the final one in dmc 1
best devil trigger designs imo
Wow, did someone extract the models or something? I've never seen them so clear. I'd love to see someone do this with DMC2, since I love the designs of the DTs there.
As for your post, I like the notion that Dante gained his own DT as he got stronger, which is why from DMC4/2 and on he only has one, but I would love to see this brought back. Obviously the simplest way is to just have Nero start gaining Devil Arms and his DT changes with each Arm he uses. Since his base DT form is so fuuuuuucking good, my preference would be to see it change slightly depending on what you have equipped, rather than being completely unique as it was in DMC1; more akin to DMC3, where the forms looked very similar to one another, but still changed depending on the weapon.
Raiden?
Why dose this remind me of Jack the Ripper mode in mgr
i miss the more gothic aesthetic of the earlier dmc games
The first game deserves way more love over DMC5.
There, I said it.
I wish DMC6 would take a cue from both 1 and 3 design wise having multiple different DT based on the weapon and it's name
Oh alistor how I’ve missed ye
Did Dante had DT in DMC1 since the beginning of the game?
In gameplay, no. He doesn’t get DT until mission 3 I think.
In story, yes he should. He just doesn’t use DT for reasons I guess.
I loved that mechanic when you change firm based on weapons. Now that I look at these forms they remind me of urizen in some extent, after he ate the apple
How is it that the DT forms from the first game are still the best? (Honestly, they're still my fave, even though I like all the others in the series.)
There's just something about there being no sign of his red clothing that makes this and his Sparda DT from M22 seem like a more "pure" transformation. DMC4's DT form took years to grow on me, at first it was just a bug insect man in a red coat.
Based af.
They are really cool especially if you think about Dante having a different DT than usual because he doesn't have Rebellion with him (that's the headcanon I think most of us go with).
The only thing I never liked of the design is the cyclops eye thing, but everything else is fire
Nice! It's hard to find pics that aren't covered in particle effects.
That rebellion variant on deviantart is so cool! No doubt that was how his DT could have been canonically from the end of DMC3 to DMC1.
That is the coolest mod I've ever seen, man.
