It was what was natural. The boers lost the second Anglo-Boer war, had their livelihoods taken from them.
They had to move to cities and compete with cheap black labour, but they weren't cheap and weren't black. So a system in which what the whites built was theirs and what the blacks built was theirs also made sense, and that's how it operated. Then we started allowing them to work for us, big mistake. The Western world at the time believed it was white peoples obligation to provide for niggers, which we did not want to do since they're niggers (even though they had access to our infrastructure, hospitals etc).
