If you mean WHAT the stats do: Strength makes you Phys and Gun attacks do more damage and give you a bit of HP.
Intelligence makes your elemental spells do more damage.
Magic does kinda the same but it also boosts your max MP.
Vitality boosts your defense and HP.
Agility makes you act faster than anyone else and boosts the odds of dodging attacks.
and Luck its for your critical ratio.

There's a few fairies on one of the early caves that explains you everything about stats and pretty much what you need to learn about the game.

In one of the first dungeons there's an NPC you can encounter who tells you what each does. Roughly, from memory:

Str: physical damage and hp
Int: magic damage (big) and MP (small)
Mag: magic damage (small) and MP (big)
Vit: defense and HP
Agi: evasion and turn order
Luk: affects many things slightly, also tied to crits.

Are you sure? I restarted and Mag gave more magic attack. Are you meant to grind? The 1st boss whooped me. The book stealing yokai.

Int is magic def and MP, Vit is physical defense and HP but other then that, it right i think.

Wait, does STR improve your gun damage? I've neglected it completely and my gun still hits pretty well.

Gun power is unaffected by any stats. Just like real guns in that regard.

But you can always pump Luck to try to get more crits out of 'em.

IDK why no one has mentioned this, because it's very important. INT also boosts magic defense.

I do but it's always too slow. I think items are straight away though.

Yeah I forgot to mention Int boosted md more and mag ma more. The fairy after says something like that too.

Does luck affect drops rates in some way?
