SPICER — A family was transported to the hospital Monday evening after a collision with a payloader in Green Lake Township.
According to the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office, five occupants inside a passenger van all suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the crash reported around 5:30 p.m. Monday in rural Spicer, north of Eagle Lake.
According to a news release, a 44-year-old man from Spicer was driving with his family southbound along the 8400 block of Kandiyohi County Road 9 Northeast. The vehicle then attempted to avoid a large payloader crossing the roadway in front of the van, but struck the bucket area.
In a follow-up email from the West Central Tribune, Chief Deputy Kent Bauman said the driver of the payloader, a 66-year-old man from Evansville, was not transported for further treatment.
None of the people involved were named in the news release.
Spicer First Responders, the Spicer Fire Department, Kandiyohi County Rescue Squad and CentraCare Ambulance assisted the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office at the scene.
