I ordered the Blu Ray audio. I think the vinyl is very $$ last I had checked. Well even the BluRay compared to what it used to cost. Just ordered it this week, I think it will take awhile to receive.

Side note question again, the early years, is there a massive difference between the Rolling Stones in Mono CD set and the SACD's SQ wise? are they both good?

So far so good. Have only gotten through Sticky Fingers. Was pleased to see that my copy included the download card, which seems was missing in some other people's sets.

I haven't heard the mono set. But the SACD's sound fantastic. And both layers sound great. Obviously, the SACD layer is the attraction, and it sounds arguably as good as any SACD I own. But the CD layer is no slouch, either. They've become my Stones' test discs for the era.

As for the latter years, I would recommend the Virgin CD's. The original redbook CD's are a bit tinny and muddy. And the UMe are horribly compressed and badly mastered. But the Virgin are quite good.

I second that emotion and the artist won an award for it too so I figured his wife had to have been on the voting panel!

    From wikipedia:

Walton Ford was commissioned to do the album cover.[15] The artwork depicts a gorilla with the Stones' tongue-and-lips logo created by John Pasche, an adaptation of Ford's series of King Kong paintings entitled "I Don’t Like to Look at Him, Jack. It Makes Me Think of that Awful Day on the Island". Ford explained that he "saw the Rolling Stones as a sort of silverback,” and the band could be compared to Kong due to "their kind of enormity of their accomplishment over the period of 50 years.” The band approved the image declaring that “The irreverence of Walton Ford’s imagery captured the spirit of the tour”, but fans were not so welcoming. Ford reacted to the criticism saying "the last people who I wanted to please were Rolling Stones fans”, as he felt they "got their own grudges" and "just seem to be always angry at the Rolling Stones for a lot of reasons". Limited editions of the art were made by Ford and put on sale.

Right. I'm angry that they used such a ridiculous image.

Nice idealism that blinkered aesthetics, easily one of the bands all time worst jackets which clearly took special talent to acheive as outlined.

    Charlie’s reaction is classic.

Mick is probably used to just throwing money around like that. Pfffft a $30 LP ain’t nuthin’....:D

Yeah, love it when Charlie deadpans, "What's a turntable?" While Mick is just tossing the LP's around like frisbees. I got quite a few laughs out of that clip.
