    Exact same mastering as GRRR!
Exact same edits as on Seventies. They're both on the vinyl versions of Honk, too, as well as the 1CD version

I wish they had released Forty Licks on vinyl. I played the CD to death when it came out.

Yes. I only have the Jump Back comp (not remastered) as it is least compressed. That and Rewind. So, I only commented on the edits for that comp.

Get the ABKCO reissue from this year (or UK original) of the Big Hits: High Tide and Green Grass compilation, Hot Rocks, and the 3xLP version of Honk... then you're pretty close. No "Losing My Touch", "Keys to Your Love", or "Stealing My Heart"... but those have never been on vinyl anywhere
Well, the "Beast of Burden" edit on Jump Back comes originally from Sucking in the Seventies... and the non-remastered 80s CD of that is also essential. Contains the "Whip Comes Down" live version from '78 that doesn't appear elsewhere, plus Ron Wood-composed non album tracks "Everything Is Turning to Gold" and "If I Was a Dancer (Dance Pt. 2)"

GRRR! is more dynamic than HONK for nearly every track that is shared between the two.

I don't think that I was following the details of your response or the post that you were responding too. If you can explain why you label "Fool To Cry" as a Canadian Promo edit I'd appreciate it. Was it a promo edit prior to it being released on Sucking in the Seventies in 1981?

Good idea. I do like "Losing My Touch" tho. One of Keith's saloon songs that I do enjoy.

I did think Doom and Gloom & One More Shot sounded better on Grrr! I'm glad I questioned that and Thank you mikeja75. You made hanging on to Grrr! not suck as bad.

I don't think there is any difference on those songs, I haven't done a null test but they scored the same on the DR meter when I last checked the GRRR! 3xCD against Honk 3xCD... might be a different story with the Blu-ray version

No idea what you're talking about. I was looking for something else and saw his eBay listing in a google search and remembered your post when I bought one.

Here's an off topic question for you @All Down The Line; is there a mono cd release of the Got Live If You Want It album? Is there any significant difference to the stereo?

    Short answer: No.

Long answer: Masterings and remasterings aside, there are several versions of this album and it’s very confusing:

Original Mono / Stereo LP from 1966.

The ABKCO version from 1986 is the same as the 2002 version and has Under My Thumb as a different vocal track. The music is the same.
Some overdubs are slightly different throughout and the overall fell are quite different. The sound are Mono-like, but then again not quite.

London cd release from 1987/88, which in the music itself are more and less identical to the Stereo LP. However, each song has fades, with added-on crowd noise, so each track is a seperate non-flowing track.

There is another version which often goes under the radar: The iTunes version is similar to the 86/02 version but has some minor cues and fades that’s different from the cd versions.

Then, the version of Satisfaction also appear on the Charlie Is My Darling Soundtrack (only available on the physical boxed set), but in a slightly remixed version and with a proper ending.

The original Mono version, which to me are the definitive one, are unavailable. Funnily enough, in Mono, the studio overdubs and fake-live tracks are way better obscured.

ABKCO CD - new essentially mono mix
London CD - stereo LP mix with fades inserted between songs
ABKCO SACD - same basic mix as ABKCO CD, but some differences

The mono LP mix has never been reissued, and the stereo LP mix has never been reissued properly.

The London CD came after the ABKCO CD, in 1988.

Ah, sorry. Good catch-up there. Thanks. I’ll correct. My London version says 1987, though.

I've heard a little bit of the stereo one. It sounds like different performances.

With the Abkco cd, the waveform looks mono but each side does move differently from the other. I'm guessing it's fake stereo which is why you say it's essentially a mono mix?

Mixed very differently, but other than the vocal on Under My Thumb, the same performances.

It's not fake stereo, it's a stereo mix with essentially no separation.

Any idea why the stereo mix was not put out? It reminds me of The Kinks Live At Kelvin Hall where the mono and stereo sound like different albums. Also, I remember on the 80's cd Satisfaction fading and the sound of a door closing. Was that on the original album?
