There was also a "Don't Stop" CD single which contained an alternate "Rock Mix".

Many people at the time chose to simply download the new songs and skip the album configurations

I got Grrr! Super deluxe for the 2 new songs, the IBC demo CD, and even though I don't play vinyl, the BBC 45 (now available in On Air). I also got that UK promo CD of D&G Bhasker Radio mix because I love that harder guitar and beat.

  13. Just got the 3-CD edition, for around $10 from Amazon.de.

Only got it for the live tracks on disc 3, since the compilation itself doesn't really offer anything special. Decided to spin the compilation at least once, disc 1 I have listened so far, and it wasn't a bad flow of songs. Of course the mastering is pretty loud and not so great.

fmfxray373 Capitol LPs in the 70s were pretty good.

I picked up the Target Blue Vinyl.

    Pretty decent pressing.

Edits used to bug me. But as long as they’re not manufactured just to fit, I expect single edits on a compilation. As I expand on an artist catalog, I will get their albums too. And the full length versions are there. Fool To Cry on Jump Back is the Canadian promo edit. Only Beast of Burden seems manufactured as an edit. The promo edit runs about 9 seconds shorter.

I have all the studio albums and the edits will bug me a lot. I stay away from compilations unless there are tracks on it no where else. I thought with Honk Deluxe, great I need the Live disc 3 AND I can ditch Grrrr! because it also has Doom and Gloom & One More Shot but they are brickwalled. As I said previously, I wish there was a 4 New Licks type promo for Grrr! and/or a standalone Live CD for Honk.

Glad you finally got your Four New Licks CD Boomy.

On CD, the 4:08 edit of "Fool To Cry" has been released on the following:

    Honk 1CD
    Forty Licks
    Sucking in the '70s (CBS)
    Sucking in the '70s (Virgin)
    GRRR! (2CD, 3CD, 5CD)
    Jump Back (Virgin)

Are you saying that the "Fool To Cry" edit on Forty Licks differs from the other digital versions above (the first of which being the CBS Sucking in the '70s release).

Same thing with Beast of Burden that you reference as being manufactured as an edit for Forty Licks. Does that version differ, from what I think is the same edit, on the CDs above (same as Fool To Cry)? This generally times to about 3:30 or so.

I believe that these edits were first released on LP on the Sucking in the '70s album in 1981 and are not new to Forty Licks and have be used on various compilations before being used on Forty Licks.
