About This Game

Winexy is a realistic 3D rolling ball game with a simple gameplay and entertaining action.
In the game you will have the opportunity to play several types of balls, all the balls will have different physics, skins and abilities. All the balls are made of different materials and in some situations you will have to take this into account. If u play metal ball and go through the flame you will get zero effect. But if you take the wooden ball it will burn and it can inflame other things on the level. The game is divided into several locations that are very different to each other. The difference is not only in weather and texture color. The main difference is the type of the level structure. We have classical speedrun levels, maze levels and levels with some kinds of puzzles.

Do you know Kula World (Roll Away)? That was the first thing that came to mind when I saw Winexy for the first time. I expected something similar but unfortunately it doesn't resemble Kula World in any meaningful way.

Everything feels off. And, as if by some strange tradition, every game that's advertised as being "100% off" seems to run terribly. This one is no exception - the performance is awful and it made my PC feel like it was about to burst into flames.

I can't recommend it. If you're looking for a fun ball-rolling puzzle game, just go play the original Kula World instead.

Ugly and rough around the edges, but at least the gameplay is okay... minus the broken physics.

Full review

Let's start off with the good things. The game has a nice pacing and offers some interesting ideas, trying to refresh the old-as-dirt genre of marble mazes with its own series of twists and innovations. Various obstacles affect your ball on its way to wherever it's going, and puzzles will occasionally block your way forward. The tutorial is straightforward and gets you directly into it, presenting to you the simplicity of handling this ball, as well as that of yeeting yourself off a ledge if you miscalculate your speed.

...at least on paper. The bad things can be summed up in three words: physics, intuitiveness, aesthetics.

Physics. When the entirety of the game revolves around physics, then you'd better hope its physics engine is perfect. This is not such a game. While the ball will roll just fine on a silky smooth, perfectly flat surface (at least most of the time), everything starts to break down at the slightest sign of uneven terrain. Even as early as the tutorial, the ball occasionally behaves weirdly when going across a block edge. Standing still on a fog level's conveyor will make you jump 20 meters in a random direction. Navigating rugged terrain, such as a rock or a metal floor, is practically impossible without jumping around or being thrown off a ledge by something as simple as moving forward—and some levels will even require you to push another ball across these warzones. The fire levels are basically unplayable—the stone bricks littering them depenetrate explosively upon level start, scattering them all over the map and conveniently blocking off your way forward (just restart repeatedly until they fall in a configuration where they don't).

Intuitiveness. You are never told where to go and what to do. The game frequently doesn't tell you what to do to progress, what this button does, or what is a button at all, for that matter (and sometimes what look like decor props can be interactable). Many puzzles are entirely based on the idea that something, somewhere on the map, is a button that will cause something, somewhere on the map, to move aside and reveal a way forward, and you are told neither and need to figure it out yourself. Conversely, some features seem pretty much useless—or, even worse, self-inflicted hindrances. I have no idea what the point is in using the wood ball, aside from setting fire to the entire map and destroying your only way forward. Some levels are littered with collectibles which serve absolutely no purpose.

Aesthetics, or rather lack thereof. While the gameplay loop works (...sorta (...when it feels like it (...aka never))), the game completely lacks identity. The tutorial feels like a demo Unreal project, complete with the default font, and the rest of the levels are just that but dressed with stock textures and skybox swaps. Stock SFXs and even the music feels AI-generated. The only thing that sort of feels like the devs actually put effort in making look unique was the laggy and overlong intro logo animation. Even the UI is terrible, with most of the buttons being askew by a good 30 degrees.

As a side note, the achievements are broken. I went through half the game and did not get a single one. (If you were wondering why only 8% of players started the game, that's why—the cheevo just isn't awarded to you)

Conclusion

A sorry waste of potential. The ideas were there, but clearly the devs did not even try to implement them properly. Or perhaps they simply did not give themselves time to? Either way, this feels like a heap of prototypes were stitched together and shipped as a finished product. I wouldn't pay five bucks for it at all.
It still does kill time, though, and even becomes fun once you learn to tame the dookie physics and game-breaking bugs. Will your patience hold up that long, or will you lose it before that point?

This game is a pile of hot garbage. It's nothing but an asset flip with ♥♥♥♥♥♥ coding and worse level design. I got the game for free and I still feel scammed. Don't waste your time

I started this game thinking it had potential, I thought the graphics were...interesting, the gameplay was cool, and the experience started relaxing. until I was almost IMMEDIATELY proved wrong on the VERY. FIRST. WORLD.
one thing this game fails awfully at is giving you ANY hints whatsoever of what to do or where to go. EVER. It just gives you a lolly and tells you to go play. I ragequitted level 3 of the fog world because I literally did not know what to do. I thought (and still think) that you have to push this ball from the beginning into a building to press a button, open the door and go, but said ball which we'll call Bob, seems to like rolling through holes right before getting into the building. Okay, this could be a skill issue! Let's just MOVE ON!

I move onto the fire world, feeling pretty down about my loss on the literal first world in this game but with a strong hope I can get ANYWHERE. Boom, I am forced to spend 30+ minutes on the first level and eventually look up a tutorial because yet again this game tells you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on what to do. I played through the level avoiding fire because I literally turned into a wooden ball and usually if wood collides with fire it yk...burns and would probably kill me? but apparently you need to SIT in this fire infested bridge for a few seconds until it collapses, CONTRACT the fire, go DOWN to a lower part (I just leap of faithed down there) and THEN use your FIRE body to BURN a fenced off room. how. am. I. supposed. to. know. that. you. silly. tart.
Whatever. I beat the level eventually. Second fire world level. Yet again got stuck and had to look at the same tutorial, because for some reason, you need to go down this path (without touching ANY fire but why the piss not because last level you literally made fire = GOOD but now it = BAD) turn into a GOLF BALL, do a bunch of stuff, go BACK down the path, turn BACK into your normal ball, go BACK but NOW FIRE IS GOOD AND YOU NEED TO BE PUT ON FIRE??? burn down a path, wash OFF the fire, ALL to push a SINGLE box out of the way and leave. And that was the final straw. I kept dying and dying to this game's stupid physics and eventually quit out of the whole game.
The only fun I had on this game was breaking it, because you can do MANY skips to skip over sections in the level (I found the most on world 1 level 2) by simply using height to skip portions and go around walls to get to places, but even then, that's not really a good thing is it? The fact that the only fun someone had on YOUR game was literally using it's AWFUL buggy messy physics to glitch AROUND the parts of YOUR level has GOT to say something,
2/10, spare yourself the headache, I regret downloading this game even though I got it for FREE while it was on DISCOUNT.
I know I got this game free, but yet I need a refund for wasting an hour of my life.
if you want to play a game that NEVER tells you what to do and where to go, will just KILL you for rolling off the TINIEST LITTLE SPECK of a platform, and gives you a HEADACHE after a while of playing? Get this game. Otherwise? Get another rage game.

Got this when it was free. I thoroughly enjoy games like this but this one is far too bugged to play. I can't even get half-way through a level without somehow getting stuck, blocked, or having no where to go. Yes, I tried multiple times and nothing worked. There is no way for me to go any faster uphill or try to fall down to the lower level. Either way, good game to waste a few minutes on if you want to get frustrated and question life for a bit.

So you saw a free Steam game about playing with balls and immediately downloaded it and proceeded to complain about it not going how you wanted it too? 100% skill issue.
Since you could clearly use a friend right now, I'll leave you with a quote:

Ball randomly chucks itself across the map when interacting with objects such as the conveyor belt or random debris. Achievements also dont work on newest version of the game.
