idk am I the friend that’s too woke here. the badass murderer trope just feels sort of juvenile and tasteless to me at this point in my life. like I feel that if you’re going to establish that a character has Murdered Thousands you have to actually make it mean something other than “they’re badass”
finally reading this is how you lose the time war and tell me why both these characters write like redditors
finished it yesterday… thankfully I feel like the reddit nature of the writing tapered off pretty quickly but man it was just not that good. just super overwritten. it was doing that thing that you see a lot in modern fiction for whatever reason where every paragraph is trying to be the most beautiful poetic quotable thing you’ve ever read and it just really really does not work for me
