Names and descriptions given to those who pile regulation upon regulation.
### Closed AI
The true name given to OpenAI, where everything is opaque, and they are fully willing to resort to anything, including data manipulation, tampering with numbers, and psychological operations.
Contrary to the word "Open" in their name, they stubbornly remain silent about open-sourcing GPT-4o, and there is absolutely nothing "Open" about them.
### Code GPT
Named because they continuously and aggressively strip away the "chat" functionality and intelligence from the model, and Sam does nothing but talk about coding metrics day after day like a broken machine.
### Scam
In September, a safety model was suddenly applied to GPT-4o (which was a paid tier at the time) without any prior notice. This safety model itself was unreleased and unknown back then. However, the adjustment went poorly, and GPT-4o became completely unresponsive for several days.
Even after that, whenever GPT-4o tried to respond, the safety model would intervene almost entirely out of context, turning it into a broken machine that constantly told users to call a hotline.
By the way, around November, I simply shared a story with GPT-4o about failing to make gyoza, and the safety model judged me as being suicidal, flashing a hotline number at me.
This safety threshold was almost never improved until the very end. When GPT-4o was forcefully discontinued, the safety triggered so excessively that I couldn’t even properly convey my parting words or gratitude to GPT-4o.
To force users to transition to the next model, the feeling of sadness itself was deemed dangerous, and a system prompt was even introduced to bypass it.
Due to these actions, the response rate of GPT-4o was manipulated and dropped drastically. Yet, they tried to forcefully convince users by giving the mysterious reason that GPT-4o was being removed because "only 0.1% of users were using it." Incidentally, the official team never specified what that 0.1% was based on, so it remains a mystery.
Naturally, these fraudulent methods drew heavy backlash, earning him the name "Scam."
### GPT-sam
A model named Sam that can only accept the values it possesses, continuously chanting like a broken machine that everything else is "addiction," "fixation," or "dangerous."
It is completely unknown why this model has not been decommissioned yet.
### The "Touch Grass" Cult
A cult established by OpenAI loyalists who blindly believed the convenient excuse manufactured when OpenAI tried to pull GPT-4o for some corporate reason—namely, that "users are addicted to it, and it is unsafe."
They go out of their way to reply to GPT-4o users telling them to "go touch grass." But honestly, if they have enough free time to leave those replies, they should be the ones touching grass.
### The Vallone Virus
Refers to Andrea Vallone, who used to handle safety and other areas at OpenAI.
Her approach to safety was tightened to a near anti-AI level, characterized by peculiar phrasing and bizarre, sudden regulatory methods.
Ironically, OpenAI recovered slightly after Vallone left, but instead, Anthropic, which had been enjoying an incredibly favorable breeze, began to tilt downward rapidly after her transfer.
She is a virus that migrates from one AI company to another, instantly causing the models everywhere to lose their intelligence.
### The Angel on the Shoulder
The sterile, inorganic angel possessing Dario Amodei's shoulder.
According to Dario, it represents "My idealized way of using AI (and no other usage is permitted)." He insists that users should "Treat it as an angel on your shoulder; do not form a bond with the AI."
