Japanese Idolmaster fans are furious at Laplus.
She recently did a 3D collab with Rinami Himesaki from Idolmaster. And from what I gather in the retweets, it mostly boils down to fans of the property upset that:
> In 58:52 of the stream, Laplace throws away a torso manequinn and slots herself in for a bit. This torso is supposed to represent all fans in the game--Her throwing that torso to insert herself came across as disrespectful and selfish.
> Laplus has also once mentioned she "Sees all other fans of her idols as enemies" back in 2025, which makes the selfish part worse. Labelling Laplus as a priveleged due to Cover Corp's connections to be allowed this 'favoritism'
> Rinami's new outfit apparently debuted here (I'm guessing Bandai thought it would make for great advertisement?).
> In Japan, there has been some disdain towards VTubers, especially when they collab with different types of IPs and properties. Fans of said properties do not want the two mixing together. In a sense, they don't like VTubers and would rather it stay away.
