There was that Scottish Marxist, Malcolm Caldwell, in the seventies who was the staunchest defender of Pol Pot's regime. Went to Cambodia, was murdered by Pol Pot's regime.

[–]BasedAustralhungary 301 points302 points  (20 children)

Very rare and mythical Pol Pot's W I guess 😭

[–]MiLkBaGzzRider of Rohan 143 points144 points  (3 children)

turns out when you kill millions some of them are gonna be bad people that die.

[–]BasedAustralhungary 67 points68 points  (2 children)

When you kill ⅓ of a whole country's population is somehow expected, yeah but I still appreciate the strange irony

[–]Public_Broccoli420 3 points4 points  (1 child)

They didn't just murder a third of the population, most of the deaths where due to starvation and over work.

[–]advocate4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds like murder with extra steps

[–]OrangeSpaceMan5 57 points58 points  (8 children)

 Pol Pot W

Your defending Pol Pot's regime ?????????

If you like it so much then go live there !!!!!!!!

[–]ImportantResponse0 39 points40 points  (2 children)

*die.

No one were living there.

[–]choma90 5 points6 points  (1 child)

I don't use glasses I think I got this 😎

[–]total_spinning_shark 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Uh oh, your emoji's wearing glasses though, so you still die

[–]penguinpolitician 9 points10 points  (3 children)

Caldwell went there

[–]MentirosoProfesional 7 points8 points  (2 children)

How did that go for him???

[–]penguinpolitician 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He never left

[–]BeratnasGILF420 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We'll ask him when he gets back

[–]Snoo48605 14 points15 points  (5 children)

Everyone is saying it's a good thing he was killed but he was almost certainly killed after realising the reality of PP's crimes and probably coming back to the West do denounce him

[–]nullenatr 27 points28 points  (1 child)

After realizing it? He frequently downplayed the reports of mass executions. No empathy for any last minute regrets.

[–]Snoo48605 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes, you have to be on another level of regardation to deny the abuses.

But I'm speaking on pragmatic grounds not moral ones: a huge defender changing his tune might have had a huge impact in the public opinion

[–]Pecuthegreat 4 points5 points  (1 child)

It could also just as easily be the paranoid regime finding the existence of someone like him unbelievable and concluding he must be a spy.

[–]Snoo48605 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True. There's so many things we still don't know about what exactly happened.

Edit: which makes me think, what excludes that he was not a spy? lmao

[–]Billych 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He was almost certainly killed by Vietnamese commandos who had literally invaded the country the day before. This is the conclusion reached by British Journalist and researcher Phillip Short who literally wrote Pol Pot: The History of a Nightmare.

[–]Left_Interaction_288 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That's very sad, if he waited a bit longer he could have got a lift with the SAS.

[–]Vector_StrikeHello There 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Now that's poetic justice!

[–]vshark29 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly, based. More people should follow his example and go to the freedom-fighting utopias they adore while staying in the decadent West

[–]ikonfedera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never meet you're heroes

[–]Srednja_Zalost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Daily reminder that in Sweden massive celebrations broke out when Pol Pot took Phnom Penh.

[–]Nachooolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And then his friends try to deny or justify that he was killed by Pol Pot.

[–]WreakHavocLikeIn1871 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Considering Thatcher supported his regime it makes sense he'd take out her political opponents

[–]DNathanHilliard 383 points384 points  (7 children)

They had Twitter in the 1970s?

[–]talligan 205 points206 points  (4 children)

It was basically letters to the editor in your local newspaper. Gods there were some entertaining hot takes in those, we used to be a society

[–]SolKaynn 48 points49 points  (1 child)

Thank God we're not like that anymore.... Right?

[–]Equivalent-Yak5487 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mean, Left?

[–]Archaeopteryx111 12 points13 points  (1 child)

Give us some examples?

[–]Unlucky-Plastic7316 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Virtually all media that wasn't archived from the 1970s is gone.

Unless someone went out their way to preserve totally inane articles, it's gone and the only traces left are in some hoarders attic.

You'd be surprised how many episodes of fairly popular TV shows aired during that time are now lost media.

[–]Noriaki_Kakyoin_OwO 13 points14 points  (0 children)

They had it since 1870s

Where do you think Decandentism got popular?

[–]EpsteinEpstainTheory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Twitter came from an actual pigeon

[–]BasedAustralhungary 213 points214 points  (32 children)

I've seen people doing the same today while replacing USRR with Russia, not just tankies but a group of people that talk about some sort of multipolar world as It is the stronghold against Imperialism (America)

It's kinda funny not gonna lie.

[–]whynonamesopen 59 points60 points  (0 children)

That's the joke.

[–]Snoo48605 13 points14 points  (2 children)

I mean it's kind of true but extremely unfair to the people's under soviet domination, unfair for them to have to live in such shitholes.

And I say this as a staunch anti communist, pro free market whatever... but Western capitalism was behaving at its best when there was the threat of a more radical system people might want to switch to. The first modern welfare system was created by Bismarck, not out of his goodwill or leftist idealim but the threat of a communist revolution. Even Roosevelt took his reforms from a more radical Louisiana candidate that was becoming worringly popular.

The idea of balancing powers is very real, and "progress" is dialectical. But nowadays who can claim to oppose the American techno-oligarchy? Russia? China? Lmao.

[–]ops10 6 points7 points  (0 children)

McCarthyism would disagree. A lot of authoritarian and anti-free market stuff was pushed through with the excuse of "to hold back the reds". It was a different taste of misbehaving.

I'd rephrase that as "systems select more competent people when the price of failure gets high". After the Berlin Wall fell, there was a pretty universal prosperity all over the world and you could do any shit you wanted as elected leader and life would still kinda get better (unless you managed to become Argentina level incompetent). What I hope from this post-freedom-of-seas era that's emerging, is more competence in governance.

[–]Man_Without_Nipples 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I get OPs point but man there's a lot of missed context. The political situation then was definitely not the same as now...also, I dont recall people ever stanning for Iran back in the day, or at least not at the level they were for Russia and China

[–]person2314 37 points38 points  (13 children)

Tbf Russia is still worse today than it was in the 70s by most meaningful measures, literacy down, freedom isn't much better the KGB would be foaming at the mouth with what the FSB is able to do, economics aren't much better, more significant poverty, food instability still exists. Academics have gone down in quality. Safety is worse, not as bad as the 90s, but still worse. Substance abuse is higher. Hmm what else? Comparing apples to apples the Soviet Union was the best country that the Russians have had; an incompetent tsarist kingdom, or Putin's oligarchy are worse in many objective measures than. During Krushchev and following his de-Stalinization. The country was in relative prosperity. My бабушка (grandmother/old woman) teacher was born in the USSR Moscow during like the 70s gotta be, raised/educated, when I asked her what the best Russia was in private, she first was like the USSR is not Russia, I was like yeah no shit, but anyways awnser my question, and she was like USSR. My other friend from Novosibirsk Siberia moved here at like 7 during the 90s. Also agrees with that. So umm actually replacing communism with capitalism did not help the Russian people, made their lives worse, and still is.

[–]TwistedReach7 26 points27 points  (7 children)

Capitalism requires at least a functioning rule of law system and social mobility to be driven by merit. None of that is present in Russia. Furthermore, they've lost colonies to exploit too. They're the sole european post-communist country to have seen their material conditions worsen after abandoning communism, with a reason (the exception is Belarus, a vassal state governed by a Kremlin-affiliated dictator)

[–]WillbaldvonMerkatz 15 points16 points  (1 child)

Turns out when your colonies stop shipping you coal for free, it affects your economy.

[–]TwistedReach7 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Mind you they're still sore with their ex colonies, especially Poland, claiming they've 'betrayed' them lol

[–]FidelYT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Russia in the 90s is one of the biggest failures of capitalist restoration, not socialism. After the USSR collapsed, privatisation created oligarchs overnight, while poverty, crime, homelessness, and mortality all surged.

If capitalism requires rule of law and meritocracy, Russia now shows what capitalism actually looks like when wealth is seized by elites during privatisation.

The USSR had major flaws, but it also transformed Russia from a poor agrarian society into an industrial superpower with mass literacy, housing, healthcare, and guaranteed employment. Millions of Russians themselves say living standards got worse after capitalism returned.

So modern Russia isn’t a failure of communism surviving, it’s the result of communism being dismantled.

[–]MagicCarpetofSteel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn, really? How much of that, if any, is because the Russian oligarchs are worse?

[–]kikogamerJ2Casual, non-participatory KGB election observer 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Most post communist countries literally had economic collapses after abandoning communism lol, wtf you on about.

[–]TwistedReach7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is expected when your entire economic and political system collapses. Reality is that if you make capitalism work as it's intended to, wealth increases and material conditions improve. This is a non-ideological fact. It's what China understood. But you need to enforce contracts and property rights through a (somewhat, at least) reliable, independent justice system and convince people that if they 'work hard'/educate themselves they'll be awarded by moving upwards in the social hierarchy. Both are missing in Russia, both exist in post-socialist contries now part of the EU, which are overperforming their former empire under any single (non absolute) relevant metric

[–]TetyyakiWith -1 points0 points  (1 child)

That’s just bullshit said by someone who knows nothing either about USSR or Russia. Quality of life jumped a lot compared to USSR and even Putins regime haven’t reached the levels of censorship and hushing up information

[–]person2314 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So you're telling me my teacher from Moscow USSR days, who taught the Russian language and culture class knows nothing about Russia/USSR? you've gotta be trolling dude. Censorship may be down, but they still have major significant surveillance.

[–]Odd-Chemist464 0 points1 point  (2 children)

you underestimate how repressive and censoring was soviet system

whatever is happening in russia now is not even comparable

[–]person2314 1 point2 points  (1 child)

It's not nearly as practical these days. If you want a cellularly connected country, you will have to allow them some freedoms, if they could censor more they would, just Putin is at the whim of the oligarchs, the trick for him is to minimize those oligarchs, and reduce issues with them, otherwise they will depose him.

[–]Odd-Chemist464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

times obviously changed, but it's delusional to say that soviets were less repressive

[–]ImportantResponse0 14 points15 points  (9 children)

You see USA control us because I had a cheeseburger at McDonald's and because I have seen a movie on Netflix.

[–]5x99 15 points16 points  (3 children)

Two things can be true. 1. Russia/china bad 2. The USA has extremely repressive neocolonial international policy.

I mean, they didn't coup over 50 democratically elected leaders for nothing. If you're not a nuclear superpower like China or Russia, you either bow to the US or get the bullet.

[–]ImportantResponse0 12 points13 points  (2 children)

Well in my country there is another option that is hated by some and seem as the most unfavorable but the sane people knows that is the less bad option: European Union.

[–]champagneface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The EU also kowtows to the US though, it isn’t a third option but a very much connected to the US option.

[–]BasedAustralhungary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy BASED

[–]MentirosoProfesional 5 points6 points  (2 children)

Tbh they say that because the USA actively finances opposition and think-tanks around the world according to their interests, either state wise or done by privates

But yeah, McDonald's bad

[–]ImportantResponse0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

USA now days defend the pro Russian parties.

Now days is Soros is bad and communism and fascism is good because the gay are coming to take your kid and make your kid gay too (at least in Romania this is what they say).

And is the NGO be the churches and neither of them legally should interfere in politics but God would punish you if you don't vote for whatever party the church wants you to vote and the NGO needs to protect those who can't protect themselves so you need to vote for who they say that would help those people.

They both create some type of saviour but both saviours can be both bad and good but they are mostly neutral and the rest is propaganda.

[–]robb1519 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

McDonald's is America.

So easily bought and sold but only if it makes them a profit.

[–]Flaky_Thing_5128 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Good good... let the red, white, and blue flow through you. Search your feelings and I think you'll realize that as you ate that cheeseburger you started to think gun control bad and also distrust the metric system.

[–]ImportantResponse0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The metric actually make sense but I am also to lazy to care what a mile is.

They been driving for few miles, that must mean they been driving for some time.

For how much time?

I don't know and why would I care, is just a movie.

And people in my country are to stupid to be trusted with guns.

[–]EpsteinEpstainTheory 1 point2 points  (2 children)

And what is their solution to unipolarity beyond just saying multipolarity? Making an already continent-sized country bigger and bigger by reducing the number of poles to zero.

[–]BasedAustralhungary 1 point2 points  (1 child)

What makes you think that I know? I'd gladly provide the answer If i had it, but those people are a mistery for me

[–]EpsteinEpstainTheory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I provided you with the answer. The premise is that they want to reduce the amount of global power centralisation, at least that is the assertion. That is what unipole-multipole means here.

Of course their nonsense is meaningless as they call for much stronger centralisation of power as their solution to power centralisation. They are simply power-hungry cultists dangling the carrot of decentralisation in front of people's eyes as has been typical of Russia given the Soviet Union.

[–]usemyfaceasaurinal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It funny how Russia managed to appealed to both the far-left and far-right. You have tankies who missed the memo that the USSR fell in 1991 on one side and ‘conservatives’ who believe Russia is the last bastion of freedom and Christianity against the ‘woke’ west on the other.

[–]BalerionSanders 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Tankies gonna tank

[–]Best_Drummer_6291 98 points99 points  (28 children)

Wasn't the whole point of the "New Left" thing to find the way to stay communist or socialist, while not being tied to either the USSR, or the PRC? I mean, there were surely plenty of idiots, but even more of sane leftists.

[–]BasedAustralhungary 86 points87 points  (24 children)

Today's leftist (ignoring centre-left like socialdemocrats or parties that lay on liberal democracies) are mainly divided on two groups:

  1. Everything about late Socialist authoritarian states was good and what was bad is because of American propaganda, blablabla Cuban embargo blablabla Imperialism blablabla Ukraine also had Its fault blablabla Hamas is based

  2. What the fuck is wrong with you? There isn't any tyrant that defend the interest of the people, and supporting other authoritarian states just to oppose USA is to buy the rethoric that the people must be oppresed and not protected. We don't exist to support any party or country, we exist FOR THE PEOPLE.

I like to be associated with the second group lol

[–]SickAnto 19 points20 points  (2 children)

Basically Marxist-Leninists and it's variants Vs Socialists, Left Comm, Anarchists, Marxists and other smaller groups.

[–]BasedAustralhungary 10 points11 points  (1 child)

I've read some self proclaimed Marxist-Leninist on the second group, but to be fair I'm sure that nobody that claim themselves as Marxist-Leninist actually know what the hell is Marxist-Leninism

[–]SickAnto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think sane MLs are quite few and probably not even online.

[–]ainus 19 points20 points  (1 child)

socialist authoritarian states are bad AND the US has not been held accountable for the countless atrocities committed in the last 80 years. People are tired of the double standard.

[–]BasedAustralhungary 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's what the second group defends.

[–]YSoMadTov 5 points6 points  (4 children)

Sadly the most loudmouth “leftists” tend to be the first group, prime example: Hasan Piker.

[–]3412points 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tired of hearing about this streamer man he is way less loud than the people who have been shoving him into everywhere the last year.

[–]BasedAustralhungary -3 points-2 points  (2 children)

Considering Hasan relations with the Twitch CEO I'd say that to a certain degree he's literally a payed agent or even a spoiled rebel

[–]SickAnto 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I would say more like: a useful idiot.

[–]Luke92612_Fine Quality Mesopotamian Copper Enjoyer 16 points17 points  (6 children)

blablabla Cuban embargo

Cuban embargo is fucking atrocious though, that's undeniable

[–]reddit_redit_rddit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Country calling for the violent overthrow of all capitalist countries is not a fan favorite of the international community, damn who would've thought

[–]boldpear904 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Have you heard of Madeline Pendleton

[–]BasedAustralhungary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, what's with her?

[–]Drunkgummybear1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a somewhat member of the 2nd group (sorry, reformist here, call me what you want), I try to stay out of political discussions online for my own sanity.

[–]Conscious_Bug5408 0 points1 point  (1 child)

It's honestly insane. I'm not sure if it's a psy op online only but I now regularly see people asserting that China/Iran/other dictator states are actually good because their dictator is fighting back against America's. One tyrant and fascist leader who fights against our wannabe tyrant and fascist leader doesn't make them good

[–]BasedAustralhungary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, but to be fair USA does the same at a greater most effective scale. I think that is precisely because of that, since some people feel overwhelmed with that while ignoring Russian, Chinese and other efforts to do the exact same, ending susceptible to those rethorics.

There is also the whole Hasbará stuff but that's another issue.

[–]hanotak -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Question from an ignorant american- Bernie Sanders calls himself a democratic socialist. Is that the same thing you mean by 'social democrat'?

[–]BasedAustralhungary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's interesting because Democratic Socialist is more of a recent ideology that push far from what Socialdemocracies understand as a welfare state and goes more deep into proper socialist territory. All of that said, Bernie Sanders is someone that would be understood in Europe as a moderate Socialdemocrat.

[–]Crowy64 46 points47 points  (0 children)

But you see, that doesn't help my case of strawmanning people I don't like

[–]PinoLoSpazzino 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In my country, the "new left" openly sympathised for Mao and basically every single other dictator that felt new and wasn't spoiled already.

Meanwhile, the red terrorists (young people, the extreme part of the new left) targeted the Communist Party (old left) for abandoning pure marxism and being too reformist.

The communist party was, in fact, "too reformist" but still took money from Moscow until the 80s. The party died the same year the Soviet Union died. Most of its politicians already had moderate ideas and became the new socialdemocratic left. Terrorists were right about this one, I guess: you can't have a new communism. The moment you try to change, it stops being communism.

The "new left" really was born the day the USSR died. Before that it was mostly an obligatory compromise while waiting for the revolution and the American pigs to be overthrown by the "internal contradictions of their system".

[–]robb1519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not understand any leftist who gathers up some of the world's greatest monsters and holds them on a pedestal while forgoing any road for imagination and a world that isn't a copy of one done a few hundred times already. All sides, everyone, does it, but I expect more from others who hold these ideals, as one myself.

[–]ReconArek 23 points24 points  (0 children)

These lands were so misunderstood that they did not understand themselves

[–]Live_Angle4621 43 points44 points  (6 children)

The origin of Palestine support is from that era too with Soviets supporting Palestine and US Israel. That has lived longer than the others

[–]SickAnto 26 points27 points  (2 children)

Didn't the Soviet originally supported Israel before this one just siding with US, tho?

[–]Piotral_2 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Yup. Palestine was under British mandate so Stalin invested a lot in Israel hoping it'll became a pro-soviet power ob the middle east. Also a lot of soviet party members had very zionistic views.

[–]supx3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, sure, but they also supported the surrounding Arab countries so figure that out. They must have been pissed because they invented Zionology (what we refer to as anti-Zionist propaganda now).

[–]budgiebirdman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you'll find the origin is outrage at the absolute injustice and inhumanity. Clown.

[–]Away_Fruit5097 -2 points-1 points  (1 child)

Palestine support has been a thing since the Nakba

[–]_trafalgar_law 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're getting downvoted by Reddit zionists. r/IsraelCrimes mean nothing to them.

They see starving children and clap.

[–]Howling_Fire 12 points13 points  (0 children)

70s? Thats still certain people today

[–]warfaceisthebest 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Funny thing is those four countries dont even have a unified ideology other than power hunger. Their government arent even anti-America otherwise they won't send own children to America or other western countries.

[–]TrueKyragos 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I sincerely think they are misunderstood, but in the sense that most people don't know much about them beyond what they receive from the news media. Of course, that doesn't make these countries better, just far more complex and evolving.

[–]Reasonable-Gas-9771 3 points4 points  (0 children)

you missed East Germany

[–]XO1GrootMeester 8 points9 points  (6 children)

And it worked, 1970-1980 people went to pension before 70 and had affordable housing.

[–]Chrono3000 3 points4 points  (5 children)

How does supporting North Korea help you retire sooner?

[–]XO1GrootMeester 1 point2 points  (4 children)

Dont know but it did. People retired at or before 60 often. Now it is creeping up to and above 70

[–]Chrono3000 7 points8 points  (3 children)

I feel like you're confusing correlation and causation here. You can argue against exploitive economic practices without supporting objectively evil autocratic regimes.

[–]XO1GrootMeester 0 points1 point  (2 children)

You can argue , will it be enough?

Also the support didnt matter.

It matters that these countries were around, show the world a clear alternative so the current had to be good.

[–]MaardtenDefinitely not a CIA operator 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Yeah some people in this comment section seem to be so obsessed with ‘winning’ the cold war that they don’t realize that ‘winning’ basically means the end of soceital progress in the west.

Since the end of the cold war we have seen rich people becoming 1000x richer in a couple of decades while the rest of us got austerity and ‘once in a lifetime crises’ every couple of years.

[–]XO1GrootMeester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Precisely this yes, now i do want to give the east people a chance to have real lives and not be slaves of dictatorship just for our progression. We need to come in action ourselves now that the east no longer does it for us.

[–]notyourlands 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, yes, affordable housing, cheap gas and healthcare also means freedom

[–]le-churchx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People who say shit like that have never been to those country and have zero plan to and NEVER WILL go.

Not once.

[–]samasamasama 5 points6 points  (1 child)

If you want to experience some *real* delusional thinking, check out the LateStageCapitalism sub.

[–]ShakaUVMStill salty about Carthage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clearly you need to read more theory, comrade

[–]markpreston54 2 points3 points  (0 children)

China I absolutely understand, Russia somewhat for their "glorious" Soviet days.

Iran and North Korea?

[–]Turbulent-Pace-1506 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started singing it like Yakko's World

[–]Dutch_East_Indies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This guy might be shitposting

[–]Consistent-Cap-9360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you seen pictures of Iran in the 70s though?

[–]Lopsided-Wave2479 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it made sense.

Socialism and Marxism had philosophical roots. They where build by intellectuals. They promised to free humans from explotation of other humans.

At the time Maxism was a totalitarian ideology in the philosophical sense, there where marxism economy theories, marxism sociology theories, marxism psychology theories, feminism... they tried to explain everything with marxism, or re-interpret everything trough different colored views.

Of course, educated people is attracted to interesting ideas and intellectual ideas.

USA was somewhat the society to criticize, because it was a society build around "the rule of the jungle" of the stronger would just oppress the weaker. One that would consider even the smaller symbols of cooperation like a dirty word, words like Public Library or Public Transport. A society build on individualism, instead of the group.

For them Russia was the opposite, a society build around cooperation. A advanced one that manage to reach space and for some times, it was the most technological advanced, putting the first human on space, and the first satellite.

With that in view, I think it made sense that they had a positive view of the counters to USA capitalism maximalism.

[–]pure_ideology- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tankies

[–]Improver_69 -2 points-1 points  (1 child)

Iran is absolutely fighting for freedom. The destruction of the US empire would make all of us free.

[–]Tiiep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bruh

[–]DoJebait02 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Careful for what you wish for. We had sided with USSR, North Korea, Cuba and China just to realize heaven in theory was worse hell in reality. Feel lucky to be able to freely speak.

[–]WappyHarrior -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, they want to free you from capitalism

[–]LordNeko6 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly China is stepping up whereas the us is dropping the ball.

[–]Nerdn1 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

All of those countries made the U.S. look like saints, but the Cold War CIA was really good at overthrowing democracies.
