Novak Djokovic on Sunday broke the men’s record for most Grand Slam singles appearances in history.

When the 24-time major champion began his first-round Roland Garros match against Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard, he guaranteed his record-breaking 82nd appearance in a major.

Djokovic tied the mark previously shared by Roger Federer and Feliciano Lopez (81) when he competed in this year’s Australian Open. Stan Wawrinka is fourth on the list, set to make his 76th Grand Slam singles appearance this week.

Djokovic is competing in the clay-court major for the 22nd consecutive year, tying Richard Gasquet’s record for most appearances in Roland Garros. Feliciano Lopez played the singles tournament 21 times and Wawrinka will appear for the 21st time.
