A couple years, late at night, I was mindlessly scrolling through DeviantART without realizing that in just a few minutes, I would discover something not just good, not just great, not just amazing, not even 'perfect', but something so good that it feels like it shouldn't even possible to imagine in waking reality let alone have it actually exist. Something beyond perfection, transcendental. Almost like a divine gift that could not be crafted by human hands.

This also started about a week earlier (the fateful day was the night of March 9, 2024). I had been doing that was becoming something of a habit for me. Which was to go to deviantart and keep clicking on art that interested me in the sidebar section that's supposed to show similar art, and keep doing this recursively until I had accumulated a ton of tabs. I would then go back and download all of the art. I had done this on March 3rd, and I was now doing it again on March 9th.

Suddenly, I caught something very peculiar in the corner of my eye. Even though it was just a thumbnail, my eyes became immediately fixated upon it. Not just that, but it almost felt like my visual perception had been changed in that small spot in some way. Almost like I was seeing new patterns and textures that you shouldn't be able to see, and at a much higher intensity than I previously thought imaginable. The closest analogy I can think of to describe it is imagine looking something beautiful shining in the light with a lot of caustic and refractive shimmers (like glass or ice) and then just imagine turning the sharpness up and up to unimaginably high levels, but without it bleeding out. Imagine doing this to such an insane degree that you begin to perceive new colors and textures. Additionally it felt almost like time had stopped, and that something very monumental had just happened. Just a moment before I was carefree, now I was suddenly intense.

I clicked on the image (for reference, it was this image https://www.deviantart.com/avchonline/art/Octavia-the-world-of-my-own-777725763), and I suddenly felt a very perplexing feeling. Very timeless, innocent, and nostalgic. But also very 'atmospheric', something I started to feel in this very surrounding and close way.

I noted the name of the artist, 'AVCHonline'. I then searched his name only to discover a plethora of related artwork. The art piece I had seen was just one of a miniseries, which itself was a precursor to his main series, 'Canterlot Royal Ballet Academy'. I searched this and felt yet another feeling, however this feeling was much less sensational and much more just confusional, almost laughter. Here I had discovered something utterly bizarre: A massive series, spanning hundreds of artworks, all consisting of anthropomorphic ponies dressed in tutus, and in incredibly intricate and striking detail. The amount of details (and the presumable amount of effort involved just as much) amazed me, and I wondered why someone would dedicate so much time to something so strange.

Within half an hour though, I would not only exactly why, but I would feel at such a deep level that almost felt like my life mission. Soon, this feeling of confusion faded into a feeling of utter amazement, bliss, and serenity. I would begin to feel similarly feelings as the first artwork, but much more vivid and rich. I felt as if nothing else in the world mattered, everything else had completely vanished from my thoughts. Even the thought of this happening had vanished. I also began to experience an intense supernatural feeling, most closely resembling what you may know as a smell. The closest smell I can describe is like some kind of perfume. But it was not just a smell - it was all encompassing. It felt like rather than breathing it, I was flowing through some gigantic ethereal wind that was passing through my body. It could feel it in my chest, nostrils, and as a slight sensation all over my body. It felt like even when I was breathing out, I was breathing out this ethereal substance instead of breathing out air.

For reference, I have never experienced anything coming close to synesthesia in my life. And the only thing that has triggered this feeling is CRBA, and it wasn't just once - to this day, I can still get this feeling sometimes, though to much less of a degree, by looking at CRBA.

I also soon discovered a sub-series of CRBA, 'AcademyLIVE'. AcademyLIVE was themed as a hybrid of an anime of CRBA and of a fictional TV network that would report on the academy, both broadcast by PonyStarTV. I became completely enamored, I was willing to sacrifice anything for this to have been a real thing. I also began to cling immensely to the name 'AVCHonline'. I would repeat it constantly in my head.

Rikose drew a few pwnies at some point.
I'm honestly not super big on them.
Actually, I think the white one is from a foss platformer with two catsho traps and a cyborg pony.
I've seen a demo of it a decade ago.

(OP) Thanks, I actually really like the first two - they remind of CRBA to a degree.
I've decided to post them to CRBAchan: http://ib.crba.dedyn.io/crba/res/218

Though I would say the resemblance is really affective at a glance. Closer inspection reveals far less resemblance. The biggest difference for me is the expression. Sean always draws this really beautiful ethereal gaze into all of the faces of his CRBA art, which this art lacks. Interestingly enough, the final artwork you posted, despite resembling CRBA much less at a glance than the first two, actually exhibits a much closer expression to what I described.

I'm not posting to seek similar artwork (although that would also be nice). I posted just so people here could appreciate Sean's work.

You're preaching to the choir, friend. I couldn't care less about social networks, I only want to look at cute kemos, but sadly lots of artists only use that awful site.
I can't keep fighting forever though, and they can keep making it worse indefinitely. I know that sooner than later I'll have to give up, I'll have no choice but to get over the FOMO, and I'll just forget about that site for my own sake. I don't know if it makes any sense, but even I know the war is lost already I guess at this point I'm just pushing myself to see how far I can make it before I have to quit.

Since this thread lasted from summer to what counts as the beginning of christmas season, I guess you could say it was technically a harvest/halloween season thread?
May it rest in peace and not come back to haunt us as a vengeful spirit.

If my calculations are correct, all images and thumbnails uploaded to any board are shared across all boards. Therefore, posting one of the currently broken pics from /ruins/ on this board should make it available on /ruins/ too, as long as the sha256sum is the same.

Potentially recoverable files:
>original images with Twitter and Pixiv filenames can be found on their original server, as long as they're still alive
>files with an md5sum filename (32 characters) can probably be found on e621 or other boorus where you can find images by their md5sum
>finally, files with a different filename can still be recovered if there are enough clues about what the original file was
For example, pic related was uploaded to >>>/ruins/5677 as "isumi4.jpg"; looking at the other pics the artist is kuroisumi, and you can search for files with the same dimensions (855x1200):
https://e621.net/posts?tags=kuroisumi+width%3A855+height%3A1200
Out of the two results here, one of them was already in the post, we can check that the other one is the right pic because if we download it, its sha256 sum is 14dc3c..., the same one as the missing pic.

You're welcome. Though, really, it's the original BO's prudence to save the board that the majority gratitude should go to.
Not to mention there are still 40 more threads I got to restore.
>I saw some old posts of mine and was disturbed it was so long ago, at the same time it was really enjoyable to view everything again.
It feels very melancholic to see how much more, I don't know, simple the times were back then. But perhaps that's just the result of becoming old and jaded.
Where'd the life take you now? You still kemopost anywhere? Still use IBs, or are you done with them?
>I apologize if this a thread that youre not supposed to reply in.

I mostly lurk these days when it comes to imageboards, it doesn't feel the same, too much irony and a lot of pointless arguing on boards.
That was always there but it feels a lot more hostile now, I think it is just me becoming older and viewing things with way too much nostalgia.
I still really enjoy kemono artwork and life is okay. I hope you're doing well anon, seeing a little dedicated space like this is nice, I feel like people don't appreciate slower boards anymore.

Yeah. Not to say I haven't been guilty of the same thing to some degree, but it feels like everyone on the internet is becoming shallower and more obsessed with the same vapid current-thing trite day by day.
Imageboards seem to be particularly affected, as, I presume, all users who aren't irredeemable spergs keep growing out of them, finding their place in society and getting replaced by iPad-children.
In big part, I started this place to try to escape this cycle and go back to those simpler times. But those may be a river that long sailed past.
Well, even if so. Rebuilding the kemono temple, or building our own retirement home, as long as there are fluffy boys and girls I'll be content either way.

>Thank you for your hard work ♥
E-he-he, you're welcome, big-boob-dog-lady ( ̷ ̷ ̷´ω` ̷ ̷ ̷)
And danbooru has a custom ugoira player now, that's nice, I can probably copy it at some point.
Meanwhile Gelbooru has re-encoded all their video files three or four times by now.

You know, I should totally scrape all furry* source:*pixiv* stuff from danbooru (add this task to the infinite backlog). It's the only place where originals of many ugoiras now deleted from pixiv can be found.
I wanted to scrape the entirety of danbooru when the whole AI drama started, downloaded all post metadata, went "okay, now I got to figure out how danbooru calculates perceptual hashes, so that I can reuse their hashes, then I can store images by p-hashes, and relate file hashes to that in some SQLite DB". And never did that.
Honestly, I probably wouldn't have made meaningful progress on the entirety of danbooru anyway, because even before images, metadata is only the tip of the iceberg, and, for example translations would have taken a lot more effort to scrape and keep up to date.
But if it's only kemonos, perhaps it could be more manageable.

Oof. I don't even care much for Socks, but out of literally any character and Riko, I would have a hard time picking Riko as the least bad character, ever. Like, even Meinya, or Mitty, or even post-whistle Prushka are better characters than the pee girl.
>Did you get to Fuga2 or are you pre-watching the second comedies?
Only finishing the first batch, actually. I completely forgot that I still had a few videos I hadn't watched yet, I remembered about it like yesterday. Anyway, no, I still haven't started the second game, nor the second season of the comedies, nor the manga volumes after the end of the first part, I still want to wait a bit more.
>Or are the stickers unrelated?
I found them by accident, for some reason they were released a couple weeks ago so they hadn't been released yet when I posted the previous link. The Fuga 1 stickers were released in 2023 if the metadata is right, so I wonder if they'll release stickers for Fuga 3 in 2027.
