Over the past few weeks, Iโ€™ve been working on HyperResearch, the most powerful deep research agent out there. Itโ€™s fully open-source and a simple Claude Code plugin, so you can get started in minutes.

Iโ€™ve been interested in the concept of deep research ever since OpenAI released its first version a couple of years ago. Iโ€™ve always felt that, alongside coding, knowledge gathering and synthesis is one of the killer applications of LLMs.

HyperResearch marks my first entry into the research space, and Iโ€™m proud to say that itโ€™s currently topping the DeepResearch Benchmark:

Internally benchmarked using RACE DeepResearchBench, which pits AI-generated reports against PhD-level research (50 is โ€œPhDโ€ level).

In the days since its official release, I have been using HyperResearch to conduct methodical investigations into everything from 2026 LLM architectures to the development of trading strategies on prediction markets.

Even I, as the creator of this tool, am constantly shocked (and a little scared) of the quality of its outputs and analysis. If youโ€™re a current Clade Code user, I encourage you to give it a try.

Great article! It shows a tremendous amount of thought and hard work went into it.

Can you explain why you chose to implement this using Claude. One this would seem to promote vendor-lock-in. Two commercial AI costs are said to be going to go wayโ€ฆ

Weโ€™ve moved past chatbots; 2026 is the year of the Research Agent.

What about perplexity? Have you compared them?
