I’m so disappointed with Code Veronica. Wanted to like this game because I’ve heard great things but holy the back tracking is abysmal and sucks any fun out of the game. 1, 2 and 3 didn’t have it this bad. Also bosses are pretty boring 😭 Story is the only interesting part but man I hate Steve. I just got to Chris so I’m hoping this is the point where people told me it gets better. I was also told the game was hard but the only hard part is the fact that the bosses are literal bullet sponges so I guess maybe you could just run out of ammo 🤷

I wonder what things they told you, the usual praise code veronica gets is that it has a great story and the best soundtrack in the series, because god DAMN I remember that the entire fandom around the late 2000s and early 2010s agreed that code veronica was the hardest game of the franchise, the main reasons were getting softlocked because you forgot an important item or running out of ammo in boss fights, and this game has one of the hardest boss fights in the series for all the wrong reasons.

To be for real code veronica is like the re game with zero that need the remakes the fact in code veronica you could soft lock yourself is probably one of the worst ways to design a game plus theirs no difficulty select once the remake of this game comes out they should keep the softlock in the hardest difficulty or just in general everything insanely hard that was in the game in a super hard setting.

hard part is you can softlock your game if you don't have multiple save slots because sometimes you might not have enought ammo for bosses and yeah back tracking is a bit much lol btw the game doesn't tell you this but don't let claire or chris take all the guns just in case but have enough guns for both of them

CVX is definitely a title that sucks the first tike round Ive played it probably 20+ times, and over the years of knowing the game like the back of my hand, i really REALLY enjoy it
it’s why the game needs a rework, so much potential and just falls so flat
I've played it a few times but damn it's the hardest one to get thru.
I love love this game but I love re1 and the concept of those games. Which youll be hard pressed to find a re game that doesnt utilize back tracking lol.
Absolute Cinema
Code Veronica is one of the best imo. The backtracking is horrifying. I love the camera work though, combines the fixed angles with a panning effect on the camera & a full 3d environment, which was awesome lol. It was also the game that brought Wesker back into the fold!!

My one and only gripe about re0(ik this is off topic but just listen) is the amount of backtracking you have to do since there are no item boxes other than that it’s my favorite game in re I’ve played so far(I’ve played re1 re0 and re4 so far going onto 2 remake.)
This is one of the games that has so many issues that I’m afraid of them remaking it. 😂

Disagree my man This game does survival horror well. It makes you think about every decision you make and just mindlessly shoot things. The puzzles are also very good in this game
I loved Code Veronica. I have no idea why people hate backtracking so much. Devil May Cry did it a lot in the first game and I thought it was awesome.
Yeeaaah I wasn’t sure about trying code Veronica for this exact reason,and just like you I’ve ALSO heard great things about it. The only times I’ve heard of awful backtracking in that game was from moist critical’s ranking of the re games. I feel like people shouldn’t glaze games like these that clearly have problems that hold it back and should just be up front and honest with it,because without honestly it can be misleading not just to other players but also to the current developers(specifically the ones remaking the games).

Steve is the worst. 4 is a much better game even if silly.

Code Veronica is very bad. Just like 0. These 2 are the only OG games i hate. Steve is horrible, i don't like the bosses, the puzzles, the final boss is absolutely HORRIBLE. I've never seen a boss this bad in a vidéo game.
Are you talking about the original Resident Evil Code Veronica because the bosses are so boring
