Egorov is the founder of Curve Finance (an old DeFi project) as well as Yield Basis, a new implementation of an AMM protocol.

Even though everyone already knows him, he still doesn't even have "Known" status by Ethos standards. I decided to write him a positive review because he's definitely someone who truly deserves it.

We recently exchanged a couple of replies regarding Ethos, and right at that moment I realized that he lacks a Credibility Score here.

He specifically mentioned the issue with KYC, where video selfies and docs are no longer a mark of quality and can easily be faked using AI. Without a doubt, the model that Ethos follows is the best prototype for global implementing human verification. (But we still have room for improvement).

Michael deserves a higher reputation on Ethos for all the work he's contributed to DeFi

I like him a lot. His twitter’s my guilty pleasure. He’s one of the real smart ones, the guy built Curve Finance. Yeaaah, he had that crazy $100 million liquidation mess (DramaFi at its finest!), but that just makes him more human and relatable. He didn’t run away. He squared up, paid off the debt, and kept grinding. That’s the kind of resilience I respect.
The dude’s got a PhD in physics and still runs the DeFi game like a pro. Following him on twitter feels like I’m getting the inside scoop on crypto’s future, no bs, i’m serious. Big fan. Can’t wait to see what he cooks up next.

One of the few DeFi OGs that actually stuck around and continues to build cool stuff in the space.

Do I think all of his moves have been net-positive? Probably not, but he is still one of the best defi builders around, and they don't make them like this anymore.

He basically pioneered concentrated liquidity and multi-asset pools that changed the game for everyone. Lately, I've been following his work on solving impermanent loss for BTC through Yield Basis, and it's got me excited. People on X are raving about how it's drawing in serious liquidity by letting providers earn real yields without the usual risks.

He's not just hyping stuff.
He's building real solutions that make crypto more accessible and profitable for regular folks like me. Definitely one of the sharpest minds in the space.
