Greetings,
My name is Junho Kim, and I will be taking on the role of Director for Guardian Tales moving forward.
I first joined the project during the early stages before Guardian Tales was officially released. Since then, I have been responsible for the game’s story development, including all side stories up to Main World 16.
Having spent so many years building and protecting this story together with the team, I spent a long time thinking about what I should say to all of you today. And so, with sincerity, I would like to speak honestly about where Guardian Tales currently stands, and where we hope to go from here.
First of all, I would like to sincerely apologize to all the Guardians who have waited patiently for so long without receiving the clear and timely communication you deserved.
As many of you may already know from previous announcements, the Guardian Tales development team recently went through organizational restructuring, and as a result, our development environment has changed significantly from what it once was.
The impact of those changes inevitably affected our planned update schedule, and during that process, we were unable to properly explain the situation to the players who had continued waiting for us. To everyone who has loved and supported Guardian Tales for such a long time, I understand how disappointing and unsettling this must have been. As the new Director, I carry that responsibility heavily.
I also understand that the concern many of you feel right now goes beyond delayed updates alone. More than anything, I believe many of you are worried about whether Guardian Tales can continue moving forward, and whether the stories and journey you have cherished for so long will truly continue.
Because of that, rather than making large promises that may be difficult to keep, I want to begin by speaking only about what I can honestly and responsibly say at this moment.
Going forward, the pace of updates for Guardian Tales may become slower than before. The scale of content we are able to deliver at one time may also not be the same as it once was. I do not want to pretend otherwise, nor do I want to carelessly reassure you that everything will quickly return to how it used to be.
But even so, I will not let the story of Guardian Tales stop here.
To first speak about the near future, the previously delayed 1st Corps Commander Myth Update is currently planned for release within May. In addition, we are preparing a story content update for the following quarter that will include a new Hero. Within the limitations of our current circumstances, I hope this can become the first step toward continuing the flow of content that so many of you have been waiting for.
I truly believe that one of the biggest reasons Guardian Tales has been loved for so many years is because of its unique stories, emotions, and the journey that all of you have shared together throughout the game. And as someone who personally helped build the story up to Main World 16, I believe that preserving that continuity is one of the most important responsibilities we must protect moving forward.
Therefore, going forward, we will continue the story content without interruption, even if it is in a manner that fits the reduced development pace. Whether it is the main story, side stories, or heroes' stories, we cannot guarantee the same development speed and volume as before, but we will make sure it continues, even if it is slow.
I also understand that the growing anxiety within the community did not come only from the situation itself, but from the fact that the situation was not explained clearly enough. Moving forward, we will do our best to communicate more openly and clearly whenever possible. And especially regarding sensitive matters, rather than offering vague hope or premature expectations, we will speak carefully and honestly within the scope of what we can confidently share at the present time.
I do not believe that this message alone can fully ease the disappointment and concern many of you are feeling today. In the end, trust cannot be rebuilt through words alone, but through the updates we deliver and the actions we take moving forward.
Even so, I humbly ask that you continue watching over Guardian Tales a little while longer.
Thank you.
As an apology, we will provide the following compensation.
