Society has perpetrated the common misconception that being busy = being productive. It’s difficult to escape the constant barrage of messaging that tells us we aren’t doing enough in our finances, families, careers, hobbies, and perhaps a spiritual community. The pressure to give 110% effort in all areas of our life is not only draining, but impossible.
I admit that I am guilty of falling into the productivity trap. My schedule is jam-packed with things to get done. However, I am slowly changing my mindset and habits to simplify my tasks without compromising on what truly matters.
Simplifying your life doesn’t mean achieving less. It just means we are shifting our focus from all of the busy work and mindless tasks to what is truly important to us. When we do, we will have more space to be creative and flexible, making time for other hobbies or relationships that make our lives more fulfilling.
