My experience in a Sak Yant Thai Buddhist Temple.
Sak Yant – Thai Sacred Geometry (Yant/Yantra) tattooed in the skin. Sak Yant is an Ancient Magical Practice of Sacred Geometry, using Buddhist, Brahman and Animist imagery and magical incantations (Kata), written in Khom Sanskrit.
In the first photo, the monk is tattooing me a magic yantra spiritual symbol of protection "Gao Yord". The Gao Yord Yant is usually tattooed on the nape of the neck but may also be placed elsewhere. The 9 Spires Yant is a geometric design and represents the 9 Sacred Peaks of Mt. Meru and also contains 9 symbolic images of the Buddha, demonstrating just how important the number 9 is in Buddhism. 999
The other images show the style of the ritual, the altar, some masks and designs, taken from a temple file.
