he's very good at coming up with scenarios that are completely devoid of any joy or laughter. like i get it he armed the bear trap by calling it a comedy so that you tell him that it doesn't sound funny at all so he can snap back with "that's the point" but does anyone actually step in the trap?
you guys don't get it, what if a cool black person saw jello say he likes hamtaro or anime, it would be too embarrassing
i'll get technicals on the line

niggas love hamtaro (at least the ones that watched it when it was on TV).

I remember a good few liked this guy specifically for some reason

Weirdly specific memory.

These people are such leeches and give fans a bad rep. They don't like visual novels, they don't like manga, they don't like anime, they don't like reading... Every day I wonder why they think opening their mouth brings any value - Brendan and his ilk (white guy with a big mouth that's like "I made [x] but better!") actively poison everything they touch. Does it bring them joy being this miserable? Do they think it makes them look smart? Because everyone's laughing AT them, not with them.
Not directly related to Brendan, but a Danganronpa(!) fan project had its pitch bible released and I could feel the same superiority complex from every word. This is just another Brendan to me.

Is that the one that has a character based on etika that kills themselves?

Jello should read Fairy Tail, but he won't because he thinks only losers like tits.
That is what comes across. In reality, like all male feminists, he objectifies women. He probably reads it.

They enjoy what every SJW enjoys: The feeling of superiority. "I could do it better." "I am more moral than you." That is what they want. To place themselves above others.

Well, it's not necessarily unrelated. Jello is streaming Danganronpa 2 right now and asserting that the game absolutely sucks and that Kodaka himself is a horrible incompetent writer.

Also, it's clear this guy is trying to sugarcoat himself thinking he can make a better Danganronpa. Jello wouldn't do that. He'd just say "Danganronpa sucks. It's dumb, stupid, sexist, transphobic and overall terrible. So, I made a BETTER one."

Reminds me of this one fucker on youtube, Uniquenameosaurus, who constantly yapped about copyright and eventually based his entire channel on that mentality. He made a video longer than two hours where he claims he "made Game of Thrones better". Did the same thing with Attack on Titan, with two videos longer than four fucking hours.

I really can't fucking stand these retards. Why don't you make your own story? Oh wait, you don't have any talent because you need to mooch off of other people's work like a parasite.

Because people like the characters and setting, but aren't satisfied by what's done with them in canon?
I don't mind such concepts too much but when I do it, I try to be respectful. Like an editor, not like writer. I prefer to help edit things to fit the vision of the writer rather than replacing them. Change too much and you would be writing a fanfic.

Could you go into more detail about what you "help edit"?

Nothing. I just make dialogue with fellow fans about criticisms we have with source material. I go "Do you think this idea would have worked better?" or "Isn't this an inconsistency? Couldn't it be worked to make sense with established lore?" and little more. On the Naruto thread, we spitball ideas as to what we could have done better and I always try to remain respectful even if I do not think highly of the current source material. I am not anyone really. I just don't believe in rewriting one's work from scratch is good. I remember seeing Dygoknight's "Naruto rewrite" and I was appalled at his willingness to take a dump on the work and go "here's my fanfic that is better than the original".

As Kubo said, if you think you are that good, you try it then. On the Naruto thread, whenever we talk about "rewrites", I try to suggest as little changes as possible on the source material. I am not arrogant enough to claim to be a writer. I just point to the things that went nowhere and ask if it needed to be there or how to make them more relevant. That is all. Criticism needs care and effort. Fan rewrites are a blight to writing in my opinion. Just a bunch of people who go "here, I fixed it for you" in a smug tone. I would hate to be one such person and try to avoid becoming that "fan". Jello is very much that "fan". He thinks he fixes. At least he actually made something though.

Maybe I'm reading too deeply into it, but I've noticed something about Jello.

During his Ace Attorney Investigations playthrough, because Edgeworth reiterates basic facts to himself in his mind, Jello keeps joking about how Edgeworth isn't human, and is in fact, a robot trying to learn how to be human.

Based on fanart he keeps sharing, it seems that the running joke of the Danganronpa Playthroughs is that since the kids are kinda dumb, he believes they're homonculi placed in an experiment, and that Kyoko and Chiaki, being the only "intelligent" person present are scientists observing them

And of course, the infamous Absurd Trolley Problem clip where he says he's worth 3 people, or 5 idiots.
Hell just listen to him talk about the trolley problem and how he's worth 3 people and an "above average" person
While we're so focused on Jello's arrogance in saying he's worth 3 people, we neglect to notice the fact that according to Jello, if those people were idiots, their lives would be worth less.

I could be reaching here. On one hand, you can dismiss this as him joking. Hell, that's probably what his fans do. But when he's exhibited this mindset repeatedly...

Does Jello believe that the lives of people he deems as unintelligent are not only worth less than the average person, but also that those people do not qualify to be considered human?

Yeah, for a few "logical" deductions it's a little silly how ridiculously simple the connection is, but also this is for the sake of combining simple logical deductions into a bigger deduction to use. It's like combining inventory items in a point-and-click game but with text. It's not difficult to wrap your head around, man. It's as if he's only thinking about this in the context of the writer's room, like the mechanic was made around the text instead of the other way around.

I know artists and Youtubers have a hard time making money, but God. I never would've thought Jello would sink so low as to take a sponsorship from Raid
The thing is specifically noted from Jello that harms him the most is his over-fixation to expend all his money on pre-production with often subpar results, we have to remember that Jello alleged having to expend 250k on top of the financiering provided by VRB ( a retired AT&T streaming service) just for Epithet Erased ending up as a glorified slideshow with some actual animation sprinkled here and there and that time he tried to defend himself showing how he wastes thousands of dollars on artists that do the drawings on his videos, man has to get his administrative skills straight
