It's not actually true that both sides want to cleanse the land; that is a zionist project and neither Fatah nor Hamas has an equivalent goal. It is also not true that both are motivated by religion in the same way; the idea that 'Eretz Isroel' was given to them by God is a Jewish concept without a Muslim (or Christian) equivalent, and the specifically religious motivation on the Palestinian side is protecting Al-Aqsa mosque (the Dome on the Rock).

Acting like 'both sides' are the same is just ignoring the reality and is the problem with the propaganda posted. In reality, the conflict is completely asymmetric; even in 2000, an honest portrayal should have had 10 Palestinians lying dead there next to the one Israeli.

Hamas and the Israeli right sabotaged the slim chance or a workable two state solution for their own selfish reasons. Suicide bombings by Hamas back in the 90 and 00s were a terrible idea.

Ehud Barak left South Lebanon and Sharon left Gaza. Both cases ended with the exact same result. I'd love to be this optimistic but the current consensus along the entire political spectrum seems to be that a two-state solution is simply not feasible, and won't be for a long time.
