About This Game

This is technically a skill-based, non-violent asymmetrical fighting game loosely derived from a chemistry model that is itself loosely based on reality. Alternatively, think of it as a hybrid of a bullet hell and a racing game, with the inclusion of self-propelled pinballs. If you love chemistry or physics, you'll probably enjoy this. If you hate chemistry or physics... you'll still probably enjoy this.

High-Speed, Low-Stress: Electron

Electron gameplay involves scoring as high as possible and/or escaping the current atom. Physics is heavily involved with electron gameplay, as electrons are accelerated towards desired positions by firing Photons in the opposite direction. In addition, electrons will ricochet off each other, the rings of the current atom, and even the nucleus itself, so quick trajectory calculations are often required.

High-Stress, Low-Speed: Nucleus

The antithesis of electron gameplay, Nucleus gameplay is focused around keeping electrons from escaping the current atom. Nuclei never move, remaining locked to the center of the atom. Instead, they control the atom itself, with abilities that allow them to lock atomic rings against electrons' exit, change electrons' trajectory, and keep electrons' energy below critical levels. Given the number of electrons that must be controlled (up to 12) and the speed and trajectory changes they are prone to, nucleus play is filled with leading targets and multitasking. If there's anything that'd make you fear the thought of being a sodium atom, it's this.

Multiple Gamemodes

  • Campaign: Primarily a method by which to unlock more atomic playing fields, but also contains a story told through the backgrounds
  • Single-Player Challenges: In Timed modes, practice or replay campaign levels; for the skilled, test how long you can maintain control of an atom in the infinite time Control modes (nucleus only)
  • Local Multiplayer: Allows up to four people to engage in splitscreen competition.
  • Quantum Nightmares: Online multiplayer that can hold up to 13 people in one match. Simultaneously the most responsive and least responsive multiplayer you'll ever experience. (Consider a game where position, energy, actions, etc are synchronized between all players. Now consider a game where only actions are even considered and positions are only hinted at...)

Nothing Unearned

All cosmetics are either unlocked by default or locked behind achievements, meaning that the more noticeable ones are also badges of skill and/or dedication.

This game is really a miss.

As a shooter, it seriously fails.

Also buying it might make you an accessory after the fact.

If it gets enough sales, will it pay for his legal defense?

Also no joke the game is VERY scuffed.

The tutorial teaches you to carefully plan what to aim for and lead your shot so you can shoot the elected... I mean the electron.

Whatever you do, don't just rush in wildly without a plan. Preparation will always trump a mad rush towards a goal.

For the game itself: weird controls and annoying license free music. This (probable) Caltech class project should have stayed private and not gone on sale in its current state.

Pros:
-Costs as much as the newest Trump assassin's worth
-online and local multiplayer!
-achievements

Cons:
-when you load up the game and press play, it just stops and tells you to play the tutorial... which you have to find in the tips menu. which is weird.
-customizations are a bit lacking. emphasis on lacking, less emphasis on a bit
-no graphics options except choosing between fullscreen and like 720p. No borderless
-text readability is poor. font choice is questionable
-text and buttons bug and stay on screen when they should go away
-in order to start the tutorial, you click tips > tutorial > tutorial. WHY DO I HAVE TO PRESS IT TWICE?
-the tutorial is very lacking and doesn't explain the basic game mechanics well. or maybe it does, but the tutorial is just cycling text THAT AUTOMATICALLY MOVES FORWARD
-tutorial overexplains the meta of the game without really explaining how to play.
-graphics are meh
-sound effects are annoying
-lack of "oompf" in attacks. the gameplay isn't very tactile
-the game runs well on my 4090
-gameplay loop gets stale and repetitive quickly. too bohring for my tastes
-music gets annoying just as quickly as the gameplay

I'm not a big achievement hunter, but when I do earn an achievement, I prefer to keep it. After playing for about a half hour, I unlocked 4 or so achievements (saw the notification in the game window) but after I exited the game, I only have one out of those four unlocked. I do find that a bit annoying, but I'm sure the developer will be able to fix this minor bug ASAP.

I mean, if the dev could have let the "targeted audience" play this game they'd have a higher success rate because the graphics can induce some fatal epilepsy attacks. Much more effective than any gun.

What a wild way to gain traction for your game! Anyway, this is my contribution to your bail money.

Games pretty unplayable in its current state, hopefully you can use your incarceration to study and further your skills.

Sorry Cole, but the American Spirit is stronger than insanity. Antisemitism and hate always lose against love and compassion.

Game is pretty bad on a technical aspect. When you are an electron then your job is to wait until the aimbot nucleus gets unlucky and you win, but if you are the nucleus you just spam Q and R till you win. The energy meter despite being the only mechanic STILL glitches out and somehow integer overflows or doesn't check if it's actually empty. Cole was a math teacher btw if that matters so he should have been able to fix this.

If only the developer would be less of a science nerd type and more into first person shooters... :)

Playing this game will have you saying "What the hell kind of shooter is this? Does the Dev know what a good shooter is?" out loud

Then you google his name and it all makes sense
