Quad Filler 1.0

Fast, clean topology patching — bridge edge chains into quads in one click.

Quad Filler is a lightweight Blender add-on that helps you quickly patch holes and connect open edge chains with clean results. Select two open edge chains, run the tool, and it generates a quad-first bridge automatically — reducing manual bridging, cleanup, and topology fiddling.

The Beta tool is now a full release with expanded bridging modes and a more flexible workflow.

Edge-Count Bridging Modes (Open Edge Chains)

Demo

Quad Filler 1.0 supports multiple edge-count combinations so you can patch a wider range of real-world modeling holes. Results are designed to be quad-first, with minimal cleanup.

Hotkey Friendly + Shortcut Recording

Key setting

Assign a shortcut and keep it in muscle memory. You can also click the key field to record a new shortcut — the same experience as Blender’s official Keymap editor.

Use it like a quick “patch tool” while modeling: select the two edge chains, trigger the hotkey, continue working.

Clean Results, Minimal Cleanup

Quad Filler focuses on producing a clean, readable topology flow that’s easy to edit. For mixed cases (triangle / n-gon), the output is still designed to keep surfaces stable and easy to refine.

How to Use

Simple workflow: select two open edge chains and run Quad Filler.

1) Enter Edit Mode
Edge Select mode is recommended.
2) Select two open edge chains
They must be open chains (not closed loops).
3) Trigger the tool
Press the default shortcut Shift+F, or right-click and choose Quad Filler from the context menu.
4) Done
You get a quad-first bridge result that you can continue editing immediately.

Compatibility

Quad Filler supports Blender 3.4 – 5.0 (Edit Mode · Edge Select).

Known Limitations

  • Open edge chains only — closed loops are not supported.
  • Highly irregular topology can produce unexpected results (like any automatic bridging tool).
  • In some cases, face normals may point the wrong way. If that happens, use Blender’s native normal tools (e.g., Flip / Recalculate Outside) to correct the affected faces.

Refund Policy

If the add-on cannot run properly on your system and we can’t reasonably fix it, you are entitled to a full refund within 30 days of purchase.
