And if you are going to bike year round here you need snow tires and enough energy for long distances and to get up and down a rather steep river valley on a regular basis (it is basically in the middle of town, great parks and bike trails, but not so easy to get up and down).

@GOKUSHRM @Natasha_Jay Years (and much inflatiom in the US) ago, someone estimated that if all environmental/climate, social, and military costs associated wirh motor furl use were collected at the pump, gas would cost a bit over $20 a gallon.
@GOKUSHRM maybe people in different parts of the world are experiencing different things to you? I know this is hard to imagine with the media being so India-centric. Here in Australia the price has gone from about 140 to about 220. Imagine the price where you live jumped to 150INR. People would probably be talking about it.
