@pannenkoekissus

that should be a very solid idea

Here's my understanding why Innersloth is the way it is now since Feb 9, 2025 (2026.04.19/https://github.com/Gurge44/EndlessHostRoles/releases?page=7) and created a separation between the unmodded folks joining a modded lobby in public VS them being isolated from modded lobbies.
As far as I read : https://www.reddit.com/r/AmongUs/comments/15p4yj7/bring_back_public_modded_lobbies/ : "TL;DR Not being able to go public is mostly intentional, as Innersloth doesn't want people accidentally joining modded lobbies.
They would like to add filtering tools to make finding modded lobbies easier, but for now they encourage sharing codes within communities."
So going to other lobbies and post game-code is better alternative than adding a Host-Only-Mod-filter at our searches? Innersloth developer Victoria's reason doesn't justify excluding consensual non-modded players from modded lobbies, but hey, it's their game, which is why they want to add filtering tools, yet didn't do it as in 2026-04-08 and now 2026-04-19.
https://www.reddit.com/r/AmongUs/comments/1r855g0/tf_is_this_lobby/ reasons : VirusTLNR: "The framework full modded lobbies use to detect if everyone is on a modded client suggests that vanilla has nothing in place to check if the hosts client is fully vanilla or not.
So innersloth would have to add In something that forces a client to reveal. It's "identity" like modded lobbies have to do with each other.
This identity would then be shared on creation of lobby so the lobby list could be filtered. Similar stuff could be done for 18+, etc.. I guess they would be called filters or tags.
But yeah right now it's impossible.",
I wish that some Innersloth-developer would publicly say like: "Nope. Not in near future because match-making, mod-detection with degrees and anti-cheat-system would be more messy and too expensive." instead of a redditor but it's a reasonable defense at least and maybe I research bad.
Between "
19 November 2024 | Tue | 18:08 | Claws and Paws Out! | v2024.11.26 |   |   | 16159859" and "25 March 2025 Tue 16:48 Announcing: Among Us x Like A Dragon – Kamurocho Cosmicube 17449712" in 2026.04.19/https://steamdb.info/app/945360/patchnotes/ , there's no mention of a specific point around Feb 9, 2025 where modded hosts are blocked to enter the unmodded masses. The closest would be 2026.04.19/https://among-us.fandom.com/wiki/Among_Us/Version_history : "2024.10.29 October 22, 2024 Many bug fixes. Improved anti-hack." one patch earlier than "2024.11.26 November 19, 2024".

Possible solutions:

  1. Neglect the average player's consent by risking them to join modded lobbies like in the earlier days, neglect some anti-hack and anti-bug-improvements and go back to pre-Feb 9, 2025.
  2. Innersloth has to find a method/system, which sets benevolent full modded lobbies apart from troll-lobbies and hacked ones without relying on the modder's word, since they can lie like with players in a meeting.
  3. Neutral Ending: Convincing GooseGooseDuck or create a amomg-Us-clone like pre-Feb 9, 2025-Among-us kinda (considering copyright-issues)? I mean, it's GooseGooseDuck-Team's chance to prop up that niche that wants more flexibility towards host's options. Creating a new "Among Us" would take too long and divides the players even more.
  4. The Good, naive Ending: Innersloth realizes that Gurge44 and some of the modders have good ideas, make their features cannon/official, and reflects on his own hypocrisy.
  5. insert your solution/compromise here

Rant: Why can unmodded host do 0.25x vision, 0.5x Player Speed and 1 short task, forced 10s kill cooldown & 60s emergency cooldown ignoring the first second the game started and the concept of cooldowns in general but not disable lights sabotage or make a time-limit because the last desperate and most suspected imposter could play with lights massively in the end for minutes especially the host and or someone with good ping since that annoys some players while stalling that game, 6.0x or more player speed because it's fun, disable tasks victory and tasks because Task Victory is the most dull way to win imo, and apply a "time-limit" instead of a "cooldown"/"the act or an instance of allowing activity to return to normal gradually after exercise" before the first meeting since there's no reason to force unmodded hosts to accept that one crewmate who presses at the first second https://www.reddit.com/r/AmongUs/comments/175emjn/someone_is_calling_an_emergency_meeting_at_the/. I doubt that Among Us got popular because: "Yay. Let's do wiring cables without sussing anyone." Those types exist too ofc, it's called speedrunners, I only asked for that option and question the direction of Among Us currently. I thought the spirit of Among Us is to sus and half-guess the Imposter, not getting saved by doing Skield (even if visual is tuned off, players think that this person is saved, so the influence is there) or forcing us to have at least 1 task, which wasn't the case in pre-release Among Us (2026.02.28/https://tcrf.net/File:AmongUs_EarliestScreenshot.jpg) nor Marcus's version of "Among Us" as a real life childplay (2026.02.28/https://www.nintendo.com/us/whatsnew/among-us-dev-recounts-how-the-game-took-flight/). Even a serious corporate-working Tesla-professional identifies the emergency meeting as Among Us (2026.04.19/https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/emergency-meeting-why-your-crisis-strategy-just-game-us-larry-wghoc), not the tasks, not sabotages, not even the killing itself, but the discussing and the iconic "sus" of anyone is Among Us.
And why is 9 emergency meetings the max at 15 players? I guess because it was 9 crewmates and 1 imposter possible back then and Innersloth numerally excluded the 1 Imposter and power balance but idk exactly. The crewmate vision and Imposter vision isn't affected by players at the lobby so that players, especially newbies have a bare imagination how 1.0x crewmate vision looks like. I get that they're players but still, it wouldn't harm to give players not just the speed but also Crewmate Vision, since most of them are gonna be crewmates.

I know I wrote too much and it's possible to be wrong.
