Incredibly inspiring session this week in Boise! I had the privilege of learning from our talented new college grads and Micron Young Professionals on how they're leveraging AI. Their insights were eye-opening: using AI on everything from coding tasks to tool maintenance. One example was an engineer who used Copilot like a co-worker — snapping a photo of a spare part from a decade-old tool and asking it to identify the part number. Within minutes, he had the accurate result. Another shared how they used an AI translator on their smartphone to bridge language gaps while working with teammates across the globe — a simple yet powerful testament to how AI on the edge is making collaboration more inclusive and life easier. They offered practical tips on prompt engineering and using the AI tools available in Micron. It was fantastic to have our new interns join in and see the innovation that happens here every day. Continuous learning is vital, and I'm energized to see the impact AI is having as our teams work to further integrate it throughout Micron. #AI #Mentorship #Innovation #Learning

If you wouldn’t ask your star pitcher to play outfield, why ask your AI agent to do everything? Decades in tech have taught me that the smartest teams—on the field or in the lab—win by playing to their strengths. In baseball, each position has a purpose. You don’t see the shortstop throwing fastballs, and you don’t count on the catcher to roam center field. The secret isn’t having nine generalists; it’s nine specialists, working in lockstep. The same principle holds in AI orchestration. When we design systems built from “agents,” it’s tempting to create all-purpose, jack-of-all-trades bots. But the real power comes from specialization—assigning each agent a clear, focused role, and letting them do what they do best. In the semiconductor world, I’ve watched the rise of AI-driven design tools. The winning systems are the ones that assign reinforcement learning agents to just the one thing they’re best at—exploring chip layouts, optimizing training, or monitoring results. This focus prevents confusion, reduces errors, and delivers real results. Just like a well-coached baseball club, each agent knows exactly when to step up—and when to pass the ball. Sure, there’s a place for generalists. But if you want orchestration at championship scale, specialization is your playbook. It might mean more “players” to manage, but it also means more chances to win. How are you thinking about role clarity—whether on your team or in your tech stack? We were excited to welcome teachers from across Idaho and Central New York to the first Chip Camp for Teachers, with day one held at our Micron Technology Boise headquarters. During the rest of this 3.5 day program, these teachers will receive continued professional development at Boise State University to learn more about the semiconductor industry and how to teach students about careers in STEM fields. This program is a collaboration with many partners, including: Microelectronics Education and Research Center and Boise State University, Idaho Workforce Development Council, many Idaho schools, and several school districts from Central New York (OCM BOCES and CITI BOCES) that serve students in the areas surrounding Syracuse. To all of the teachers, thank you for joining us in Boise! We hope you return to your home communities with refreshed insights into the future opportunities your students may pursue in the growing semiconductor industry.
