Written for the Lancer Writer’s ’28 Days of Rain’ Challenge’

A sequel to Stranded and A Bigger Boat

Scott sighed, “Well, at least they’re off the island.”

Murdoch nodded and sipped his drink.  “It was touch and go there for a few minutes.”

Scott laughed, “Did you see the look on Val’s face when Barranca refused to get on the raft”

Murdoch chuckled. “And the look on Johnny’s face when Barranca jumped into the water—”

Scott spewed his drink, “And Val holding his reins—”

“Holding on for dear life—”

“I told you Barranca could swim.  Good thing Val could, too. “

Murdoch held his ribs.  “And Johnny screaming at us go after them.”

The two men stifled their laughter.  After a few moments, Murdoch nodded.  “Good times.”

“Not for Johnny.  Is Val still chasing him?”

Murdoch looked toward the French doors as Johnny streaked passed with Val on his heels.   “I think Val’s catching up.”    

Scott raised his glass in a toast.  “Yep, good times.”
