Bronx 10-60/66 4th alarm box 4399 at 3485 Bivonia Street.
Just after midnight Firefighters responded to reports of a gas odor on the 15th and 16th floor. While they were investigating, a large explosion occurred on floor 16. Firefighters were on the floor when the explosion occurred but were miraculously unharmed. Other firefighters were trapped in the elevator for some time.
Firefighters battled fire in more than 10 apartments on the 15th, 16th, and 17th floor.

Earlier today FDNY Engine 39 and Ladder 16 responded to East 79th street and the FDR drive for a 3 year old with their head stuck in a fence.
Upon arrival units located a young male who had his head stuck in a railing on the east river footpath. Units used a hydra ram and a saw to cut away the railing.
The child was freed and was unharmed.

Rescue 1 packs up after a 3rd Alarm at 210 West 22nd Street in Manhattan - Box 603
Manhattan 3rd Alarm Box 603 | View from above | FDNY firefighters battled fire on all floors of a Vacant 6-Story building in Chelsea Manhattan yesterday. Firefighters arrived to find fire out the window on floors 1-4 of 210 7th Avenue on the corner of west 22nd street.
Multiple hand lines and tower ladder streams were used to knock down the blaze.

Early Saturday morning, Firefighters in the Bronx Battled a 2-Alarm Fire at 1552 Leland Avenue. Heavy fire was venting from the 2nd floor on arrival and extended to the attic and 1st floor.
A victim was located on the 2nd floor and transferred to EMS.

FDNY Ladder 117 arrives on scene as a special called truck at Queens All-Hands Box 7295 at 47-30 48th Street
FDNY RESCUE 4 Arrives on scene and goes right to work at Box 7295 - 47-30 48th St in Queens.
Ladder 163 transmitted the 10-75 after locating fire on the 3rd floor in a rear kitchen. E325 got water on the fire as Rescue 4 pulled up.
A few minutes before this, the same units were dispatched to a person pinned by a garbage truck just blocks away. Unfortunately, that person succumbed to their injuries.
