Expanding sports practice - More movement for people with disabilities
Promoting inclusion through sport. This is the inspiring principle of Adaptive Winter Sport, the project supported by Milano Cortina 2026’s Education Gen26 Programme to bring Olympic and Paralympic Games partners closer to the local communities and associations on the national territory, through different activities.
Sport as a starting point
Purpose of the project is helping Italian sports federations in developing winter Paralympic sports, bringing more and more people with disabilities closer to sport practices. Thanks to the collaboration of P&G - global partner of the 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026 - sports equipment and apparatus indispensable for starting Para ice hockey were donated. In addition, some donations went to support and create Para ice sport promotional events.
Accessibility and its importance in sport for everyone
One of the central focuses of Milano Cortina 2026 is making sports accessible and welcoming for people with disabilities. Sport practice goes from attention to local associations to making sport facilities accessible to everyone.
Together with P&G and the association Lo Spirito di Stella, a census project was launched to assess whether the accommodation facilities that accompany skiers in some of the locations that will host the 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games comply with accessibility standards.
This information will then be used to identify those facilities we can donate wheelchairs to, essential for allowing people with motor disabilities who want to enjoy an all-round skiing experience to access them.

The Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026 will be held from 6 to 22 February 2026 and the Milano Cortina 2026 Paralympic Winter Games from 6 to 15 March 2026.
The Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026 will be spread over an area of more than 22,000 sq km. In addition to Milano and Cortina d'Ampezzo, competitions and ceremonies will also take place in Bormio and Livigno in Valtellina, Predazzo and Tesero in Val di Fiemme, Anterselva/Antholz and Verona. Tickets will be exclusively digital and available only on the official ticketing platform (tickets.milanocortina2026.org). Each person will be able to purchase up to a maximum of 25 tickets.
