We are now in the month of Ramadan… the month that always brought us peace, warmth, and beautiful family gatherings.

Every year, we welcomed it with hopeful hearts. We decorated our homes, prepared iftar meals with love, gathered with relatives and friends, and went to break our fast by the sea in Gaza. Our homes were safe, and our memories were full of joy.

But this year… everything is different.
Many of our loved ones are gone or displaced, and we have not seen them for months. Our iftar tables are now very simple, sometimes missing basic needs. The places that once gave us comfort and hope are no longer the same.

Ramadan is still the month of mercy… but today, we need your mercy and support.
Your help, even if it is small, can bring warmth back to an iftar table, give a family a sense of safety, and put a smile on a child’s face in this blessed month.

I am Ahmed, from Gaza.

I write these words living in daily fear for my mother's life.

I do not want to lose her as I lost my father, who was killed by the Israeli army. She has heart problems, and we are trying to get her medical treatment outside Gaza.

We live under a strict blockade, where hunger and lack of medical care are used as weapons.

We are denied the most basic right to live.

I speak to you today to share my voice and my family's cry with the world.
