Old photos were of San Francisco after the 1906 earthquake.

The title of the first scene says the date is March 5. Later in that same scene, the radio announces the date is March 20.

Just after the policeman delivers the secret letter to Clive Sutton, he calls his secretary and starts to read off the names of the people he wants to see in his office. The piece of paper in the close-ups is different from the one we see in the long shot.

When the air-raid siren sounds, we see an elderly woman in a red coat and black hat running toward a department store door. Seconds later, after we see the police car and other people running, the camera goes back to an overhead view of the square. The same woman is now standing in the middle of the square, well away from the doors.

The mushroom-cloud repeatedly changes shape, size, and color over the course of three different shots.

The sound the Carrier Receiver makes when no alert is broadcast is wrong. It is supposed to be a "ticking" noise as opposed to a low pitched beep.

Despite having been born and grown up in the primitive post-war "society", Ruth's daughter Jane has a tooth filling.

The "body" of Granny Beckett is still moving and breathing after the Becketts take her outside the shelter.

Mr Beckett, after 2 weeks in a cellar with no running water, still wears a clean shirt with ironing or packet fold marks on it and a spotless waistcoat with no dust.

The sound of the air raid siren during the first nuclear bomb attack is clearly from WW2 as you can hear the booms of the anti aircraft fire quite distinctly.

Toward the end of the film, when Ruth falls over while she and her daughter are working the fields, you can hear the director say "Look up nice and slow" to the actors. It's even included in the current closed captioning, with the speaker attributed as "Man."

When the Kemp's next door neighbours are stopped in their car by police on their way to Lincolnshire, the father rolls up the window at the end of the shot but the camera and camera man are clearly visible in the reflection of the rolled up window.
