This is not worth 20 dollars.

I want to make this clear up front: this review has nothing to do with the developer. This is strictly about the game itself. I’ve also put in more time beyond the demo, so this isn’t a first-impression take.

Boring Repetition:
There’s just not enough here to justify the price. You’re getting under 10 minutes of new layouts per day, and after that it turns into a very basic loop. The gameplay boils down to: don’t miss shots, melee on sound cue, and hold W efficiently. That’s it. It gets repetitive fast, and there isn’t enough variation to keep it engaging for what the 20 dollar price point should.

Weird performance:
The game has random frame drops that really shouldn’t be happening given how simple it is and the hardware I’m running. Sometimes the game freezes while the music keeps playing, which completely throws me off or just ends a run. I’ve tried changing my settings but it doesn't change anything.

Shallow Asthetic
The LSD/Japanese inspired aesthetic looks cool at first, but it doesn’t actually add much to the experience. It feels interchangeable, like you could swap it out for almost anything else and the game would feel the same. It doesn’t really tie into the gameplay in a meaningful way and it just feels like useless eye candy after the first hour of gameplay.

At 10 dollars, I’d probably recommend it. For 20, though, it feels like there just isn’t enough here to justify the cost. Right now, it comes off as repetitive, lacking depth, and not worth the price. If this game had something like good mod support, it probably would be worth the 20, but at this point this game inherently isn't worth the price that it is put at. Only get it if it's on sale.

If the giving money to a self proclaimed apolitcal rage baiting idiot and the IDF is your cup of tea, then by all means, buy TAMASHIKA, but if you have any moral compass and care about where your money goes (especially when outspoken), then don't spend 20 dollars on this aesthetically nauseating mess.

Its like post void, but twice as likely to give you an epileptic seizure.
Very fun game, the visuals very unique, and the fast paced gameplay constantly keeps your attention. My one problem is that $20 seems a bit overpriced, but considering that it’s release day, i’m sure more content will be added overtime.

addicting for sure, would advise to play sober unless you want your brains on the pavement.

Graphics: cool, nostalgic, beautiful
Replay value: 10/10 once you get the hang of it. The parry and knife are easier than you think - Ill just say skill issue

Close enough, welcome back POSTVOID. I like the philosophy of one level per day, it creates a reason to keep comming back because gameplay's fun and only one level leaves you wanting more :D

not worth the price,it gets repetitive and there is only 1 type of enemy in the entire game, dont get me wrong the visuals are stunning and the gameplay is pretty fun but i paid 15 euro for this, this game is not worth 15 euro there is barely any content to justify the price

They really took being mindful and staying int he present as a concept and made a whole game of it. You have to be LOCKED in. The second you think about what's in the future you're dead.

It's really fun, the price point is a little high, but the games good for at least a couple hours.

10 minutes is absolutely bait.....

slightly disappointed.
while looking at the reviews that were talking about the dev themselves i didnt have any idea what i was hopping on when i started playing, the visuals seem interesting and the music sounds cool however the content available is meh, its 7 stages of tutorial then 2 levels that get generated procedurally everyday that can be cleared rather easily. the only interesting part seems to be if you wanna really compete for a spot in the leaderboard but apart from that gameplay wise its just a reflex check where you just point and click with occasional screen flashes that indicate you to just press right click to win. i thought the skill ceiling would be higher than that but even shooting feels a bit too lenient for its own good. although i wont deny i had fun while playing.

maybe in the future there will be more content available that makes the game feel more diverse gameplay wise but for now its eh. 6/10
got it on a localized price but i saw people say its originally 20$ so id recommend getting it on discount in the future.

Best post Post Void style game over played. The charitable parry window and static daily levels make every run feel hypnotic and gradually better.

My only feedback is that I know this is by the lovely planet dev and level packs for tamashika would be amazing just like those games but it’s probably antithetical to the games design.

I’ve died so many times in the tutorial that I no longer fear death! :D
This is the best 600MB I have ever downloaded in my life.
Highly recommended if you have epilepsy! <3

I absolutely love this game the gameplay is fast and fun, the visuals make me want to puke in a good way, but I only have two issues as of right now.

The parrying feels very odd, as instead of parrying when something is about to hit you, the game will stop and flash big, bright letters telling you to parry, and it feels unsatisfying to hit.

Otherwise, there feels like a lack of content in the game as of now, but I still recommend it 100%
