Karmein Chan (13) was abducted from her family home in Templestowe on 13 April 1991 at approximately 20:40 while babysitting her sisters.
Her body was discovered on 9 April 1992 at Edgars Creek, Thomastown.
Cause of death: three gunshot wounds to the head, execution-style.
Police have publicly linked the case to the Mr Cruel series.

II. CIRCUMSTANTIAL OBSERVATIONS FROM PUBLIC RECORD

The abduction and disposal suggest a vehicle was used very close to the home.
Sniffer dogs tracked scent only a short distance, indicating rapid vehicle removal.
The body was disposed in a shallow grave near Edgars Creek, close to electrical infrastructure.
The perpetrator demonstrated detailed knowledge of the northern suburbs industrial corridors.

III. PRIVATE RESEARCH HYPOTHESES (Civilian Investigation)
These lines of inquiry are based on independent civilian research and have not been confirmed in official public statements:

The perpetrator may have used a 4-wheel backhoe for a rapid “Dig, Store, Cover” burial operation near a 66kV substation landmark, using the electrical hum to mask sound.
