British Model is the political system of the modern day United Kingdom. It is
authoritarian, partially democratic, and culturally left. It uses a combination of
Keynesian School and
Social Corporatism as its economics, and the creation of a large
welfare state.
British Model believes in a strong
unitary state, while still upholding
civil liberties and
Democracy.
British Model is highly Progressive, supporting immigration and gay rights, affirmative action and the censorship of "hate speech" and anything that speaks against progressive ideas.
Personality
Acts like the norf fc meme. constantly using slang, getting drunk and the bar, and getting angry at his football team for losing. He is often seen arguing with American Model and making fun of him for not having
universal healthcare.
Another depiction could be that of a sterotypical British Imperialist (especially for older depictions of the ideology) Obessed with colonising every piece of land he can find, no matter how big or small. This personality would be best described as a combination of
Imperialism and
Classical Conservatism's personality.
The 3rd depiction could simply be the personality of the current prime minister, which is currently Starmerism
History
Early History
The Modern British system really developed in 1721 when Sir Robert Walpole became the first *de facto* Prime Minister. However British Democracy was restricted to nobles and there was rampant corruption with many issues and the economic system being harsh towards the poor.
To the People
In 1838 the Chartist movement started and begun the call for every man to have a vote. In 1867 that call was answered and the right to vote was given to every man who wasn't insane and wasn't going through criminal convictions and was urban dwelling. in 1918 the right to vote was given to all men over 21 and most women over 30. In 1928 every woman over 21 could vote. In 19 69 the voting age was reduced to 18.
Modern
The British model has influenced the Australian, Canadian, New Zealand and Nordic Models. In 1999 Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland were devolved and since then there have been increased movements for England to be Devolved.
Beliefs
House of Commons and the House of Lords
A proposal must first go through the House of Commons made up of MPs representing there Constituencies. Each MP can vote on whether or not a proposal should be passed. This then needs to be approved by the House of Lords. This is how a proposal is passed.
Economy
The British Model wants a regulationist economy with some industries being government such as healthcare and soon train services and possibly water. However the economy is mostly made up of privately owned businesses. The British Model supports Welfarism and gives benefits and free healthcare to all citizens.
