Foreign Jump Wings
I was wondering if anybody could possibly share for the good of the group about any upcoming opportunities for people to get foreign jump wings. I would especially like to hear about any in Georgia, any yearly reoccurring ones (I've heard Benning does a toy drop), foreign wings exchanges, and if you need to have gone to ABN school. now I know the regulation says you need to have your US airborne wings before you can wear foreign ones but if there is any possible events one could participate without having to have to ABN school that would be awesome.

No you can’t jump without being jump qualified. You’re a massive safety liability otherwise.
What if you have logged jumps, just haven't gone to Airborne school?
I’m assuming you’re referring to the civilian side. Even though you have logged jumps from outside sources you still have to be Airborne Qualified through the Airborne School. This is not only to ensure your safety by ensuring all jumpers have the same training but to save their ass as well.

You cannot wear foreign wings if you don't have US wings. What you do as a civilian does not matter.
Yes, there are "training programs" or whatever that you can pay for that will "give you wings." It is unauthorized, plain and simple.
If you want to wear airborne flair, you need to go to the basic airborne course. Period.

I hate to break it to you, but when it comes to legitimately earning foreign badges, people will take care of themselves first.
I did know a guy who had foreign wings but no jump wings. Learned from him that your basic parachutist badge will be revoked if you don’t spend an adequate time after jump school on active jump status (I think the time period was 2 or 3 years). He purposely requested and achieved getting off jump status because he always hated jumping.
However during the time that he was on jump status he was able to get his German jump wings. Those are not revoked if you drop jump status. So he left the unit with foreign jump wings, but no American jump wings.
Edit for the downvotes: I guess people don’t like hearing the truth? Here is a guy who didn’t know he would lose his badge after terminating his jump status. All I wanted to do was prevent this from happening to anyone else. People should know

That’s false. It’s not about Jump Refusal, which happens in the plane. This is when you request formally to come off Jump Status. It’s not “fucking up.” There is no administrative negative action that will happen to you if you formally request to come off junk status,m. Obviously you will still have to jump until the approval for your request goes all the way through.
Badges of all types have specific rules on when they can be revoked.
