Good on you getting that EIB. I wish I would have taken it more seriously and got mine as well.

Thanks man, got mine last month. Was the most fun I’ve had in uniform if I’m being honest.

Congratulations man. Brother if thought EIB was fun. Then I hope you put 20yrs in you are exactly the kind of soldier the Army needs.

What unit did you do it with.

Marche de Diekirch! I haven't seen one of those in ages. Very nice.

I hadn't seen one of these until years after I got out in 2012. Now I've seen at least a half dozen on racks in these groups in the past few months. Very cool.

I had to look up what it is! I love uncommon ribbons and awards that you don't see everyday!

Is that the yellow ribbon on the bottom right ?

Got my EIB first try at Ft Bragg when I got there as a new jumper. Did a hell of a lot of push ups by the Plt Ldr as he had tried and failed for 2 or 3 years in a row. This was in the spring of '81

Spent 4 years at Bragg. Every time we did it was in the cold wet. I was a mortar section sergeant so I knew maps very well, but I dont like getting cold and wet on land nav, so I just got the points in area J that didn't require water crossings. 81 though, hell, I bet thay was worse. Long street probably wasn't even paved then.

Longstreet was paved then. But it was pretty new. We were in the 3rd Bde barracks right across from Pike Field. Area J further back and that's where the 11B's did EIB

I believe that is the Diekirch award, right?

Rarely see those.

Yessir, super blessed to have that opportunity while on our EUCOM rotation. Was just 12 days shy of the 270 for overseas ribbon but at least I got something!

Used poorly, AI can make applicants seem generic. Used well, it can help them stand out.

You were a very good Soldier, thank you!

Not done yet, reenlisting next month!

Love the EIB

What is ur last ribbon never seen it before

International March de Diekirch. It’s an annual event hosted by the Luxembourg Army, there are different distances you can do. Me and some of my platoon took a 4 day while rotated to Germany and went and did the 40km ruck carrying the US flag 🇺🇸 was a good time, lots of different nationalities there.

That’s the next goal, reenlisting for airborne either next month or the following.
