It would be like anyone from the UK who decides to visit or move to the USA only considering New York. That would be crazy, right?

A lot of foreigners who live in the US on residency visas do go to New York especially. It's where many jobs in America are that attract international professionals, like London is where many jobs in Britain that attract international professionals are.

The tyranid one yeah, that’s a big thing I hope they always leave unanswered. Also not going and fully fleshing out the Emperor’s pre-30K life, the sparse hints of maybe ambiguously being Alexander and the like are enough as is.

Chris has left the Ruckersville/Charlottesville area a few other times. There’s been convention trips in Washington DC and the state of Pennsylvania.

Mostly though it’s believed he’s flying. I shudder at the thought of being the poor soul seated next to Chris in a sealed airplane

but I genuinely think Chris has been replaying events in his head, putting them into his stories, and then having his stories rewrite his memories so much that it's become a loop

Related to this is something I've wondered on and off over the years, which is how much of Chris' memories of his life are his own memories and how much of it is distorted and warped understandings of the CWCki retelling things that happened to him, often based on partial or incomplete accounts which are often from Chris himself.

Yeah I use this explanation a lot too, because it's one that goes around and fits very well. The accompaniment is to also think of the anime as Mary's POV, the manga as Visha's POV, and the LN as a more objective accounting/Tanya's own warped perspective.

Andor shows biases against human cultures can exist, with how the Imperials treat the Dhanis with contempt and with how Imperial propagandists manipulate public opinion against the Ghor.  Vanto’s specific experiences though are more a regional classism thing that predated and outlasted the Empire that comes with the human worlds of the Outer Rim having been settled mostly long after the Core was unified into the Republic, or being so different like the Tionese worlds that they retain severe cultural differences

This is why I regularly cite it as one of the moments that really makes it hard for me to feel bad for Chris. His stupidity, pettiness, egotism, arrogance, and laziness are all on perfect display in his confrontation with Mr Smith.

Things like his extreme resistance to killing off Simonla or dramatically freaking out about Mary Lee Walsh taking down his attraction sign. I can kinda understand in theory, using how I was as a young kid on the spectrum, why Chris (an adult man) would be so angrily defensive of certain things and throw tantrums. But when I factor in his age, how he held grudges over these sorts of things for weeks to months to even years after the fact, and how silly some of them were? That's when I kinda lose theory of mind for him.

Florida and the southern parts of Louisiana are not culturally Southern. The former has Spanish influence and the latter French, this has left them with very vibrant and unique local cultures which are distinct from the broader South

That too but it can also be explained as Chris’ psychosis after going deep into gender stuff and becoming convinced he was trans (anxiety around the genitals is something I understand is a symptom of gender identity dysfunction, but I’ve never heard of a trans person actually convinced the genitals matching their psychological gender identity were magically growing).

The character of the sister Crystal predates his interest in gender stuff by close to a decade. It’s a good argument that there maybe was dysphoria there long becore

Americans tend to resent European countries a lot for looking down on us. the Brits it's kind of excused some, because we're the "little brother" even if we've long since outpaced them. But when it comes to like, France and Germany, there's a lot of resentment. Though after Trump's threats against Denmark over Greenland, it's kind of hard to blame people in the EU for disliking America.

You are asking to join the US Army but think positively of one of the US' primary and longest enemies, think a matter of great strategic and moral importance to US foreign policy "is an [sic] European problem not world's [sic] problem", and desire instead to fight in a war that the majority of Americans are opposed to and likely will see very limited 'boots on the ground' if any?

Christory really is full of foreshadowing, isn't it?

It's fucking insane, as shocking and horrifying as "Chris pretends to be literal fucking Jesus after spending not even two years in jail for sexually assaulting his elderly mother" is, it's literally the only way this could've ended up. Like there really was nowhere else Chris' life could've gone.

It's why you have to admire Gihren. Every other Zeon ideologue couches their mass murder in spacenoid independence and noble whatever and endless revenge on the Federation. Gihren is like openly admiring Hitler and makes no attempt to hide how incredibly evil he is.

Bridge is probably the same bridge design as the Consular Cruiser, the rest of it can be reasonably assumed to have an interior fairly identical to both the Consular Cruiser and the CR90 Corellian Corvette.

It is odd now that I think about it, but why is the Pelta a KDY vessel? It's clearly the same design family as the CR90 and Consular, but those were CEC ships and had been long before the Pelta was created for TCW

And doesn't that kinda go against the stereotype that literally everyone is dying to move to America? Looks like that’s not entirely true after all…

Uh I mean, if you had some account called "America Bound" instead of "Germany Bound" poll its audience I'm sure they would vote for America over Germany, and then we could come wave it in your face and say it's refuting this stereotype you claim exists.

no, so Riddhe is way more pathetic and lowkey manipulative though. Banana at least tries to support Mineva/Audrey. Riddhe literally whines "ur da only one who can understands me" after his dad tells him the details of the Marceneas family's history and the truth of the Laplace Incident. Fuck Riddhe.

So funny when you have to do the training chapter in KOTFE and it’s literally Marr and Satele going “use this ancient shrine to uhh build a magic blaster or sumthn man idk”

My view is that the Agent remains the most plausible non-force sensitive, there’s a fair case for both the Consular and Inquisitor, while the Warrior and especially the Knight (especially) have personal associations with Tenebrae that make the interactions with Valkorion’s ghost carry weight.

The Smugger is the least plausible of the possible options in my opinion. I just can’t see the Bounty Hunter or Trooper as an Outlander, sorry.

The very core base of the MAGA movement is not remotely as decent as Puzzle is. Shift is Trump and Ginger makes a good representation for the various Republican politicians and other elites who have cynically allied with Trump for their own ends, though.

The rivalry I get as being necessary for movie drama to have slightly more interesting characters, though I’m not quite happy with how well it was executed. It’s natural for there to be tension. This is a hot take though.

The Susan/Caspian romance though? Ah ha ha….am quite sure I will never be used to that.

Honestly I actually knew of him from Jeeves and Wooster long before I ever knew of House, because my family watched those when I was younger.

Even now I honestly don’t think of him as House, because House is so different from Bertie Wooster that it’s actually jarring when I’m watching House and suddenly remember that this is the same guy who brought Bertie Wooster to life.

Only US jets downed are the ones Kuwait's air defenses accidentally shot down. US Servicemembers killed were Army personnel on Gulf bases.

Morality of the war aside, there are geopolitical objectives that could theoretically be accomplished in a war on Iran. The problem is Trump has no plan and is just letting Israel strike indiscriminately, including hitting a school. The war is partly being fought on orders from Israel, and that pisses me off, but we have agency and our leaders committed to this themselves.

No, it’s just more efficient. My dad keeps some stuff in the bathroom cupboard and my mom keeps a little of her stuff in the cabinet below her sink, but it’s more for the extra space and the efficiency (they can both brush their teeth and all that at the same time). To be frank though, this is something I seldom think about because I’m seldom home these days and also have very little interest in my parents’ bathroom habits.

I can say however that, assuming I get the house if I marry, I intend to do the same setup because it’s just easier to have separate sinks. Sharing a bathroom with my sister when we were growing up became more and more of a hassle the older we got

I know quite a few ex-Catholics, including a good buddy of mine, who have found a home in Episcopal congregations. You’ll find that a lot of the base theology is similar to Catholic outlooks but without the dogmatic rigidity, excessive adherence to extra-Biblical traditions, and more exclusive tendencies (crucially, any Christian may take Communion at an Episcopal service as opposed to the exclusive ones at Catholic services).

I want to see a firm ending for SWTOR’s timeline, since the game itself will likely never fully resolve its story beyond the vague implication that the Sith Empire of that era obviously collapses long before 2000 BBY.

Or more stuff about the post-Endor warlords’ feuds with each other, the mainline Remnant, and the New Republic. We see bits of this in the X-Wing novels and reference materials like the Atlas and Warfare expand on it, but there’s a serious dearth of stories set in that context

The character work is very good, it doesn’t shy away from how awful the Four are as people but they’re still lovable and deeper than you’d think. Especially in the later LN volumes it becomes clear that even Aqua has more under the surface than she appears to.

I’ve seen it called Isekai Seinfeld, which is true, but unlike Seinfeld having a core cast of four people who sorta kinda try to pretend to be good people but are actually very very terrible human beings (or just obliviously destructive in Kramer’s case), Konosuba has a core cast of four people who are pretty blatantly terrible people (in fact, they’re proud of it!) but actually are much kinder and more moral than they appear when you really look at them.

Yeah Lady Aslan is a non issue, that has no impact on the themes of Narnia. Christ is a human man in our world but a lion in Narnia; there’s nothing lost if He is also a female lion. Aslan was always a representation of the Son and having a female Son of God in Narnia doesn’t alter the core themes of the work. There are, again, other concerns regarding how Gerwig handles the themes of Narnia but I don’t think a female Aslan is an inherently negative choice. I would be more hesitant if the same were done to Diggory, Polly, Eustace, Jill, and/or any of the Pevensie siblings though. (That said, if she does make it all the way to The Last Battle I would like a different phrasing regarding why exactly Susan turned away from Narnia instead of “yeah she uhh makeup or something”)

You're not going to Minnesota, which is where their aggression is really ramped up. And even that has failed.

You will most likely be fine. If you're super terrified, feel free to make sure you have the number of the nearest Australian consulate on hand (since it's NY I assume there is the full embassy to the United Nations, maybe they do regular consular duties for tourists too?). But you're unlikely to be randomly detained by DHS thugs.
