Trump says ‘military wanted’ White House ballroom: ‘That was supposed to be secret’

President Trump says there’s a national security component to the construction of the White House ballroom that was “supposed to be secret.”

“Now it’s no secret, the military wanted it more than anybody,” Trump said of the construction of the ballroom Thursday during a Cabinet meeting at the White House.

“It was supposed to be secret, but it became unsecret because of people that are really unpatriotic saying things,” he said.

“But doesn’t matter, it’s going to be great,” the president added.

Trump ordered the East Wing of the White House to be demolished last year in order to construct a $400 million ballroom.

The president has frequently expressed the need for the 90,000-square-foot project, saying it’ll be utilized as a space for hosting state dinners, galas and other events with world leaders. The White House has said the ballroom is being funded by private donations.

During the remodeling and expansion of the East Wing in the 1940s and following the attack on Pearl Harbor, then-President Franklin D. Roosevelt directed a bomb shelter be constructed underneath the building, according to the White House Historical Association.

In January, CNN reported that the White House ballroom may include a “top-secret project” and that Trump was “rebuilding a secret bunker under the East Wing.”

The ballroom, which is expected to be completed by 2028, has triggered intense backlash from critics and faced significant legal challenges.

In December, the National Trust for Historic Preservation sued the Trump administration to stop construction of the ballroom until the White House obtained congressional approval and elicited a public comment period and multiple independent reviews.

“Everything I do, I get sued,” Trump said Thursday, pointing to the ballroom, as well as lawsuits involving the planned two-year closure of the Kennedy Center announced by Trump last month.

“I get sued over a ballroom that’s going to be the most beautiful ballroom in the country — so desperately needed,” Trump said.

Trump whining about being sued is like him complaining of being raped as a child by an old man

Just more lies. I don't even see a five start general wanting a ball room. This is for the elite, as is all of the "remodeling" going on. We want know for a few years who's paying for it. Taxpayers?? The elite spend their time golfing or major sports events, which with Trump includes wrestling, or flying overseas for lunch. Epstein was always flying elite people to many places, and we now know many for sex with minors. Most of these elite are still being hid from us. OUR government elected are as bad, and are part of this elite. Two years after criticizing his predecessor Chris Wray for "private jet travel that he pays for with taxpayer dollars to hop around the country," FBI Director Kash Patel allegedly used a government plane to see his girlfriend. Patel flew on a $60 million FBI jet to see country singer Alexis Wilkins, who he is dating, perform at a wrestling event in State College, Pa. After reports surfaced that he used a government-owned plane to travel to Pennsylvania to see his girlfriend, Patel reportedly fired the official in charge of the FBI's fleet of airplanes, Stephen Palmer. If you read thehill.com or yahoo you can find the corruption. Most seem to prefer being ignorant of these facts. These elites are controlling the world, and like the tax breaks you get that expire after 2028, the Big Beautiful Bill will continue their tax breaks. The programs for the people that have been cut, with more to come, will not. And when it's to late, the people will see what they have. Maybe no free speech. All ready started is your food is getting more poison, as it benefits big business to use these poisons. Coal is cheaper for big business, even if it finishes destroying the environment. Check on it's effect on mountains, and what that will do for water.

If a democrat wants my vote they must pledge to restore the White House exactly as before and change back any name changes for federal property and also end any federal funding for anything with Trump in its name. Including palm beach airport

I guess they decided to do exactly like you do as far as suing people and I know several military people from different families including my own, from all branches, for years and not one has ever mentioned "a big beautiful ballroom"!

I grew up in Northern Virginia, surrounded by military families. Guess where I’ve been? The Army Navy Club on Farragut Square, literally a minute’s drive from the White House.

“ We are located on Farragut Square in the heart of Washington's business district, just two blocks from the White House and a few steps from two Metro stations. We offer 32 hotel rooms, an awe inspiring collection of original military art, a fabled military Library, Main Dining Room, Grill, 𝘽𝘼𝙇𝙇𝙍𝙊𝙊𝙈

, Daiquiri Lounge, multiple meeting rooms, indoor racquetball and squash courts, weight room and quality locker rooms for both our male and female members.”-https://www.armynavyclub.org/The_Club_(1)

That's because it's not YOUR White House. It is the people's house. As such, you should have waited until you dealt with more important issues (Inflation?) then gone through the proper channels.
