Transport and Access
Vehicular Access
Vehicular access to the site will be from Mill Drove.
Taylor Wimpey has undertaken comprehensive transport assessments to evaluate the impact of the development on the local road network. Where necessary, improvements to junctions or highways infrastructure will be identified to support the development and maintain effective traffic flow in the area.
The site will be accessed from two access points off Mill Drove. Mill Drove itself will be widened to 5.5 metres with localised narrowing over Car Dyke. Traffic calming measures will be put in place including speed control cushions to ensure safety for all road users.
Pedestrian and Cycle Routes
Taylor Wimpey will establish pedestrian and cycling routes throughout the site that connect the site with surrounding areas. These routes are designed to encourage active travel and make it easier for residents to walk or cycle for everyday journeys and to access services and amenities.
By providing safe and convenient alternatives to car use, the new routes will promote healthy living and help integrate the development with the wider community. The network of paths will also provide recreational opportunities for residents who want to exercise outdoors, encouraging healthy living and outdoor recreation.
In addition to this, the established footpath route along the Car Dyke will be protected and enhanced, maintaining access to this historic feature. The Car Dyke will be diverted with a new culvert, enhancing pedestrian access and establishing new footpaths.
