Can confirm: subway tooter does work in the Tokyo subways.

The various warnings you see everywhere make for good entertainment.

Achievement unlocked: looking sufficiently lost in the countryside that the village chief called the local English-speaking guy to drive over and ask if I needed help.

True, I had no clue where I was going, but does that matter when surrounded by such wonderful scenery?

"Kagi Translate" should really be renamed to "Kagi What The Hell Am I Looking At?"

I just needed the romanization but this is great too.

Damn pigeons have no respect for religion.

This place has more public toilets than trash bins.

The surrounding area is stunning, too.

Ayo
After a silly memory explosion bug took down VNDB¹, I've looked into configuring a hard memory limit on the web workers. I was afraid I might have to integrate my process supervisor into a soup of cgroup rules, but it turns out setrlimit(RLIMIT_AS) is perfectly suitable here. Perl's virtual memory use is nice and predictable and the backend isn't spawning subprocesses. Just needed some additional logging² to make sure I get notified when it triggers. Monitoring is important!

1) https://g.blicky.net/vndb.git/commit/?id=3e6ae2beef1eb1ab412f11a2d5f485afc107816c
2) https://g.blicky.net/fu.git/commit/?id=d300f4d791c80cdf091c1f9d2ddb50ed36a6c42a

Ayo
Such a lively start of the year. Still a few angry people from the aftermath of a popular non-VN game getting deleted from VNDB. An alternative VN database/frontend popping up. The site going down for a bit due to a bug, and people speculating that the downtime was caused by that alternative front-end hot-linking images. :blobsmilesweat:

Excellent continuation of the series, warts included. :blobcatheart:

I'll probably do another playthrough after a break, but then with an infinite carry capacity mod. It's awkward and has some limitations, but works. Steam has a useful JSON endpoint that isn't officially mentioned or documented anywhere. Everything else I've implemented so far required HTML scraping.
