Especially with BC, Tomino could've easily brought in Kamille if he intended to like what he did with Beltorchika, but that didn't happen.

I just think it would have been a really fun character turn to have him pop up in CCA in Gyuneis place. Tweak the Quess storyline a bit so he's not chasing after her, leaving her to Char and Hathaway, and the role is perfect for Kamille, even makes that fight with Amuro significantly more meaningful. Could even give him a redemption arc within that movie, bringing him back to full functional and good-aligned by the end of it, or kill him off like they did with Gyunei anyways and make that death a lot more impactful.
Judau, if he exists in the setting, is still chilling in Shangri-La being poor and is a much weaker Newtype.
I don't know offhand if Haman just died during Gryps in SRWY and there just wasn't a first Neo-Zeon War.
The story of Kamille’s post-Gryps recovery is instead insipid, forgettable, and poorly written fanfiction. They should've just done the movie ending and spared me that bullshit. Kamille's not saved by believing in life or anything relevant to his actual Zeta character arc.
Instead he is sent to the Augusta Lab which is not anything like its canon depiction. Nanai might have something to do with it.
Instead Kamille gets a Fear of the Cockpit story arc I find wildly boring, annoying, and out of character. Char keeps trying to give him psycommu Dogas to pilot. Kamille refuses everything until the Hyaku Shiki Kai which has no NT systems. Gyunei bitches extensively about this to Quess, because Kamille is getting all kinds of favorable treatment ftom Char and failing to appreciate it. Kamille fears being a Newtype?? Gyunei is really petty and jealous. He gets to work through it in a little story arc I gave no fucks about. He's fully playable and an ally as part of Char’s cool Neo-Zeon. But he's not the hilarious little failson I love who gets effortlessly beasted in CCA. He's just a boring side character.
Kamille's behavior and story in Y made genuinely no sense to me based on anything the character ever said or did re:piloting post Zeta TV in any other Gundam canon. He hops into a Core Fighter no problems in ZZ. In Moon Crisis he can pilot no problems he just thinks it's not the best use of his time. In Moon Gundam he fully understands what happened and why. It makes no fucking sense for him to blame the biosensor. The happy ending in Y is him hopping back in the Zeta when Cameron Bloom gets it out of Federation jail. That is illogical as hell. Kamille’s anxiety about psyommus just goes away at a convenient time to pilot the Zeta. That plot has no satisfactory ending besides Gyunei being less of a dick and more boring.
A lot of people really like Y's Neo-Zeon stuff. I hated it. Literally just uninspired Pixiv fanfic but no stories end. Instead gameplay fanservice happens and then I should be happy because reasons. I don’t buy anything about how that game had Kamille and Char acting in their respective situations at all. It just made me like how much more interesting the Tomino and even Fukui canon is.
SRWY isn't a bad game at all. Certain storylines are inspired. The CCA/Zeta stuff is just pure garbage. Nobody wants to see Kamille Bidan written entirely in service of a character arc for goddamn Gyunei Guss. But Kamille in cute CCA Neo-Zeon uniform is its own fanart genre anyway. As a UC Gundam fan, Y is probably my least favorite SRW story. Even SRW30's hit the mark for me better.
According to another comment the text mentions SRW Y, and in that game Char gives Kamille the Hyaku-Shiki Kai when he joined Neo Zeon since the Zeta had effectively been lost in Federation hands. (SRW Y's timeline for Char and Neo Zeon are very different since it's basically a 'what if Char mellowed out right before CCA' scenario)
He didn't just mellow out, he saw how the world didn't change after the death of Lelouch from Code Geass and Trieze from Wing and realized that trying to shoulder the sins of mankind is not a great idea.
Y also begins with the Earth government (basically this version of the Federation) dissolving itself after all the failures in leadership.
As a consequence, almost all of the threats in Y come from aliens or ancient civilizations. It really invalidates Char's ability to blame the world's problems on the people of Earth.
So when Kamile comes back from his Newtype induced coma and Char reaches out to him, it's to actually mentor and help him grow as a Newtype. I am on my third run now and if I recall Kamile had the best Newtype rating out of all the possible Newtypes, so it must be working.
If Kamille wasn't fucked in the head maybe Char wouldn't have gone off the deep end and Neo Zeon would have been more positive like SRW Y which is basis of this fanart
Char literally states what he's planning to do in CCA in multiple Zeta episodes before anything has happened to Kamille at all. Zeta TV ending with everybody dead/hurt just made it more convenient when Casval ran away from the Quattro persona to become Char again.

Kamille understands what Char is really trying to do in 0092 per Moon Gundam. He recognizes it's evil and intervenes because a mysterious "he" asks him to. It could be one of several characters. I think it's the ghost of Katz Kobayashi myself, since Char's plan involves exploiting/hurting children again.
