A New Year (both Chinese and Western), a new profile photo! This one's also by the legendary Zackary Drucker. I'm older (and I'd like to think wiser!) than the previous headshot from 2019 when Bloomberg News commissioned her to do a photo shoot in my Brooklyn home. This time we met up in LA Griffith Park. There's a magical comfort in commissioning another trans person be the photographer for your formal portraits; I felt completely at ease the whole time with her and her actress friend Alexandra (who was massively overqualified to be the photographer's assistant!) Hopefully you'll actually be able to recognise me in person more easily if you know me mostly from online. I look incredibly different compared to 7 years ago -- smile lines and creases, a healthier, less skeletal weight, and no glasses.
