Heh. This was discussed at a GenCon drinXXX dinner session, with WotC designers, editors, and managers: Primordials carry a Divine Spark, but upon death/destruction, it "flashes" (think nuke blast shockwave) out into the world around, becoming part of all life. CAN'T be snared.
